Sisaundra Lewis is empowering others with new single ‘Yes
(You’d Hear My Mom Say)’
By Jenna Gengler
Sisaundra Lewis is a singer/songwriter and
producer who grew up singing in church choirs and developing her skills through
that natural progression. It was through this collection of experiences that
she was able to become a finalist on NBC’s The Voice, and grow through that and into the
current phase of her career. With a gorgeously developed sound, she has been
able to captivate audiences and empower others to feel emotions such as hope
and wonder.
Most recently, Lewis has been focusing her
energy on her latest single “Yes (You’d Hear My Mom Say)”, a
project that pulls a modern Gospel sound together with the nostalgia of an old
hymn. “Yes
(You’d
Hear My Mom Say)” draws inspiration from a hymn Lewis remembered
through her mother. Taking pieces of the older song and building them out to
connect to a more contemporary style, she has designed something rare and
beautiful.
“We were able to take this song to the next
level,”
she explained, discussing the track’s origin. “When people listen to this song, I want them to
be reminded of the power of using the word ‘yes’.”
The song is designed to implore people towards the power that comes from taking
a leap of faith and accepting good things when they come into your life.
“‘Yes (You’d Hear My Mom Say)’
has already empowered and provided hope to so many,”
she said. “It
has been so powerful to see how it has been able to do that for the people
listening to my music.”
Lewis debuted the song on her nationwide cable
television show, The Sisaundra Show, where it proceeded to go viral, raking in
over 600,000 views on Tik Tok and Instagram. From there, she was able to fully
debut “Yes
(You’d
Hear My Mom Say)” and share the whole song with her attentive audience.
Keep an eye out for Sisaundra and her band, For

Black”, a
