SOME THOUGHTS OF MINE

As we get closer to the November Presidential election, the liberal media, IE CNN, MSNBC, ABC, AND NBC, are all desperately cherry picking things that Governor Romney is saying abroad, and completely blowing things out of proportion. The economy is a mess, GDP is SLOWING, and Obama has spent more money in 3.5 years than the last 10 Presidents combined. I am curious about another thing. Why would any African American vote for Obama? The President has done NOTHING to address African American issues. There are more blacks on welfare, more on food stamps, and more unemployed than ever before. Romney wasn't my 1st choice during the Primaries, but he has my support now.
The folks at NASA and space geeks like me are getting pretty excited about "Curiosity" landing on Mars on August, 5th. The Volkswagen sized Rover is currently about 1 million miles from Mars, and is scheduled to touch down at 10:30 PM Pacific time, August, 5th. The landing will be the most complex, and dangerous landing out of all of the Mars missions thus far. If the landing is a success, the rover will patrol the surface for up to two years looking for clues that the planet once had the components to support life.
My Nephew, Brendan is currently in the middle of the most intense Marine training on Earth. He's currently in the Mohave Dessert conducting the MOHAVE VIPER TRAINING, in preparation for his September deployment to Afghanistan. Upon completion of this training, he will get some well deserved liberty time. I will be flying up to Connecticut at the end of August to see him, and my family. I'm getting excited to see everyone. Ed Anderson, my good friend and business partner will be coming down from Boston as well. Good times coming up.
My little one Lanvy will be home from California later this week. She's been in California at her Auntie's house all summer. I miss her terribly. I'm looking forward to seeing her on Sunday. Life is great. God Bless all of you.

MARS ROVER "CURIOSITY" APPROACHING AUGUST 5TH LANDING

I'm getting pretty pumped up. NASA'S Rover "Curiosity" will touch down on the surface of Mars on August, 5th. The rover will explore the surface, and try to determine if the planet ever had the compositions in it's soil that could have produce life.
The EDL for this mission is just psychotic! The craft will bust through the atmosphere traveling roughly 13,000 MPH. It will undergo a series of stages, all of which have to work perfectly before it ever touches the ground. The craziest part of this landing is the last step.
The rover will go from 14,000 MPH to about 2MPH at which time it will be lowered to the ground by a hovering crane. Once the Rover's wheels touch the ground, the sensors will detect touchdown, and the crane will fly off to a safe distance, and crash to the surface.

Wrapping up a really good week. We are getting close to launching the new 8CountNews.com! We aren't going anywhere, we'll still have the same URL. The site is looking really good, I can't wait to go live with it.
We have a huge Presidential election coming up in November. I supported President Obama when he ran the first time, however, he will not get my vote this time. His healthcare plan scares the crap out of me. It will crush small business owners all across the land. How do we pay for this plan? I give Obama an A for dealing with our enemies, and capturing and killing terrorists. I give him an F for domestic problems. Honestly? If I were an African American, no way in hell would I vote for this guy again. Exactly what has Obama done to address the black issues in this country? Yep, nothing.
When the Republican primaries were in full swing, I threw my support behind Rick Santorum. He came up short, and Romney eventually won the nomination. I will now support Mitt Romney for President. This country needs a businessman at the helm in order to get our economy back on the right track.
In boxing, I spoke with Bob Arum yesterday. He gave me a nice update on his stable. Arum told me that he is leaving for the Philippines in the first week of August to meet with Manny Pacquiao. Arum says that he will need to have an opponent named by August 10th. Check out that Podcast HERE
My awesome God daughter Bebe is back home from Vegas. She did so good competing for Miss Vietnam. I'm so proud of her. That's a quick update folks. Have a great weekend! Brad C

MY CONVERSATION WITH BOB ARUM - PACQUIAO OPPONENT TO BE NAMED AUGUST 10TH

I spoke with Top Rank boss Bob Arum this evening. He gave me an update on Donaire, Pavlik,Chavez Jr, and most importantly Manny Pacquiao. MITT ROMNEY IN JACKSON, MS TODAY

Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney is in Jackson, MS today on a fundraise mission. I saw his motorcade on Lakeland Drive today. The secret service were crawling the place. Romney is attending a few private fundraise events. There will be no scheduled public appearances.

I took this photo of Mitt Romney earlier this year when he was campaigning in Jackson. He had an event at the Mississippi Farm Market. It was awesome to meet the guy.

HEADING UP TO NEW ENGLAND

Just booked my flight to Connecticut. My Nephew, US Marine Brendan Cooney will be deploying to Afghanistan in September. I'm coming up to see him, and my brother and family. I'll also make my way to the Boston area, time permitting. I look forward to seeing my friend and business partner, Ed Anderson. Heck, you never know who else I may get to run into while up that way.

MY BEBE IS HOME

My awesome God daughter Bebe is finally home. When I picked her up at the airport I saw one tired, exhausted girl. Bebe finished 7th overall and 1st in Miss Popularity in the Miss Vietnam Beauty Pageant. I am proud of her beyond measure.

BEBE WINS MISS PHOTOGENIC

My Bebe has WON the Miss Photogenic category in the Miss Vietnam Pageant. She is currently competing hard in Las Vegas, Nevada to become Miss Vietnam. I am so proud of her! We will not know until late tonight how she does overall. I am looking forward to seeing her tomorrow when she finally comes home. Regardless of how she places, I am so proud of her!

SENDING OFF MY BEBE THIS MORNING

My oldest daughter Bebe got on a plane this morning and headed to Las Vegas, Nevada to compete in the Miss Vietnam beauty pageant. I'm excited, nervous, happy, and sad all at the same time :-) She hasn't been too far from the nest in her life, so this is a big trip for her. I'm so proud of her though. I love you Bebe! Good luck!!!!
