Hit-maker RDCH drops two new club bangers with ‘But Your Body Say Yes’ and ‘Baby Just Rock’

TUSCALOOSA, AL – You’re unlikely to find a more complete artist, producer and audio mixer/ engineer in Alabama than Antonio “RDCH” Hope. This rapper, songwriter, singer, and multi- instrumentalist has been creating hot music for the past few years, and his latest club bangers “But Your Body Say Yes” and “Baby Just Rock” are testament to his ability to create hit after hit.

The driving beat of “But Your Body Say Yes” has a nice kick to it that makes listeners feel good and want to move their bodies. It’s a song that pays homage to women. RDCH said a lot of times women might say no, but their bodies say yes. “Women look good these days,” he said, “which is the crux of what this song is about.”

“Baby Just Rock” is also directed toward women. The original beat and lyrics make use of a sample from Freddie Jackson’s “Rock Me Tonight.” RDCH utilizes auto tune to good effect with this track as he talks about wining and dining a woman and creating a great evening together. It’s a song that he said has gotten some great feedback from fans and which is helping to grow his audience in ever-widening sweeps across the country.

“You really can’t categorize my sound,” RDCH said. “Everything I do is a hit. That’s the only thing I will put out. That’s not to say I won’t experiment and try out some other sounds, but when I release something it’s a hit. That’s what I want my music to be known for: good hits. That’s the only thing I’m aiming for. When people say my name, I want them to say, ‘He makes hit music.’ If you’re anticipating something from me, you should be anticipating and expecting hit music. If it’s not a hit, I’ll set it to the side.”

RDCH said he first got started creating music around the age of 13. He had a keyboard and some dual tape decks, which he would use to record a piece of a song and patch it together a bit at a time until he had a full-length song. By the time he was 19 he was recording his own music and had elevated his style to a fully professional level. Along the way he learned every trick of the trade, and has developed himself into a multi-media artist who helps other musicians in a variety of ways – from producing to directing videos and everything in between.

“I am the only artist and producer who is able and willing to push the culture forward through the blend of mixing music with creativity,” he said. “I am not to be categorized as one of ‘the other rappers.’ You can say I excel them. I am uniquely my own, and control every pattern and rhythm and lyric that flows through my mind.”

BENTELY RECORDING ARTIST BELEE KAUR TALKS NEW HIT SINGLE "I BELIEVE" AND MUCH MUCH MORE!

Former Tennis Pro Belee Kaur turns to Dance Pop with Massive Hit Single ‘I Believe’

BELEE KAUR (20:33)

TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA – It’s not unusual for professional athletes to use music as motivation, though it’s not every day that you hear about a former tennis pro turning to Dance Pop as an artistic outlet. That’s the case for Canadian-Indian singer/songwriter Belee Kaur, however. While traveling the world as a professional tennis player, music was always her best friend. She recalls crucial moments in her tennis matches when she would sing her favorite songs in her mind to calm herself down. Eventually she realized that music was her true passion, and after a lifetime of training and touring, she hung up her tennis racket in favor of the microphone and partnered with RATHMUZIK and BENTLEY RECORDS, NEW YORK to begin her musical journey. It has proven to be a great move, because with only two releases to date she has already topped 2 million views on YouTube, and her star is only climbing.

Her latest single is the hit summer track “I Believe.” Stuck right in the middle of the Dance Pop lane, this upbeat jam is sure to be played in the clubs for many years to come. If you listen to this song and don’t move your body then you must be dead. It’s an upbeat, pumping groove that is perfect for a night out with friends. People all over the world will be getting sweaty as they jump and bounce to the music that Belee Kaur has created.

“I wrote this song as a response to the self-motivation I felt when going through a lot of difficulties,” she said. “If you really want something, you don’t need someone to back you or encourage you. Just tell yourself that if you want it, you can do it. I accepted my feelings and said this is what I wanted to do. Making a song about that emotion just felt so good, and when we gave it that little bit of an EDM touch it just came out perfect.”

“I Believe” is actually the second hit from this fast-rising young artist. Her previous track “Saturday Night” – a cover of the hit from Whigfield – has already surpassed 300k+ views on YouTube. The follow-up single is well on its way to catching that total, having already amassed nearly 1.5 million views in just a couple of weeks in its release. That doesn’t even include the rising number of plays across all the other streaming platforms upon which the single has been placed. And Belee said she has even more music planned to drop later this year, including a feature on an upcoming track with world famous Sean Paul, and many more renowned collaborations.

“Always trust God and his plans for you,” Belee said. “Your outlook should be no looking back. I have always wanted to make music that is lively and makes people happy and want to dance. There are too many reasons to be sad nowadays, but music can bring happiness and inspiration to your life. Even if I only inspire one other person, I think I did my job. So, I hope people will use my music to convince themselves not to give up. If we can support each other, we can achieve all that we want to.”

ROCK LEGENDS "STYX" VOCALIST LAWRENCE GOWAN STOPS BY AND TALKS NEW RECORD "CRASH OF THE CROWN" AND MUCH MORE!

I am honored to welcome back to the Brad Cooney Podcast show, STYX vocalist Lawrence Gowan! I've been interviewing musicians and celebrities for many years now but it is still is a surreal moment for me when I land one of the band's that I grew up listening to.

STYX dropped a brand new record, a terrific record called "Crash of The Crown" that Lawrence and I get into quite a bit in this interview.  We also talk about the band's tour and other cool stuff that the band is doing these days.

HAVE A LISTEN BELOW!

STYX
CRASH OF THE CROWN

Tommy Shaw: Acoustic and Electric Guitars, Mandolin, Banjo, and Vocals
James Young: Electric Guitar and Vocals
Chuck Panozzo: Bass Guitar
Todd Sucherman: Drums and Percussion
Lawrence Gowan: Piano, B3 Organ, Synthesizers, Mellotron, and Vocals
Ricky Phillips: Bass Guitar
Will Evankovich: Acoustic and Electric Guitars, Mandolin, Synthesizers, Soundscapes, Percussion, and Vocals

How do you follow up a career concept album that explored a perilous manned mission to Mars? If you’re the veteran rock stalwarts known as STYX, you come back down to earth in spectacular fashion to create a 15-song supersonic cyclone that encapsulates universal emotions, wrestles with top-of-mind issues, and celebrates personal triumphs over adversity in ways everyone can relate to personally. These are just some of the deep-seated feelings evoked by STYX’s 17th studio album, Crash of the Crown, which is set for release on June 18, 2021 via Alpha Dog 2T/UMe on 180-gram high-grade clear and black vinyl, CD, and all major digital platforms.

Produced by Will Evankovich — the man behind the boards for the band’s previous studio masterpiece, June 2017’s The Mission — Crash of the Crown (or COTC, for short) is a come-one, come-all clarion call that celebrates the creative mindmeld of seven musicians-slash-brothers in arms at the top of their collective game. The proof can be found throughout all 45 minutes of COTC, whether it’s the wistful observational musings of “Reveries” — an instantly catchy song featuring STYX’s patented, always-uplifting four- and sometimes five-part harmonious vocal blend on its choruses — the unmistakable snarl of “A Monster” that’s bolstered by a whirlwind outro solo from co-founding guitarist/vocalist James “JY” Young, the breathe-easier singalong mantra that permeates “Sound the Alarm,” the dark yet redemptively hopeful cautionary tale that frames “Hold Back the Darkness,” or the elegiac communal grace of “To Those.” In essence, Crash of the Crown is a modern-day sonic chronograph of the endless regenerative cycle of the rise and fall — and rise again — of our shared human experience.

STYX’s holy mission to fulfill the laser-focused vision outlined by guitarist/vocalist and chief songwriter Tommy Shaw for Crash of the Crown was undeterred, regardless of some of the socially distanced hurdles imposed on the recording process due to this past year’s pandemic. “Absolutely no obstacles were going to get in the way of how we approached creating this album,” Shaw asserts. “And everything came out exactly the way we wanted to hear it.”

Some COTC songs had already been in the works during the days of The Mission (such as the aforementioned “Reveries”), while some were workshopped in hotel rooms all across the continent while the band was on tour (the way “A Monster” was born and bred during a scenic tour break in British Columbia), and others reached final fruition during the recording process itself (like the angelic vocal bridge that cements the relieved bliss of “Sound the Alarm”). The recording sessions for Crash of the Crown mainly took place in Shaw’s home studio in Nashville — albeit in strategic, quarantine-approved doses. “Because we connected so well as a band when we recorded The Mission, I just had to go there to make my contributions,” recounts bassist Ricky Phillips. “Tommy and Will are very clear about what they wanted for each song, and my job is to play the best parts I can to make every song better.” Adds original STYX bassist Chuck Panozzo — who provided his signature low-end tone for the inspirational “Our Wonderful Lives” and the acute aquatic fever dream “Lost at Sea” — “I traveled over 900 miles by car to record with Will and Tommy in person. They’re both so good at getting the best bass performances out of me in the studio. Making that trip to Nashville was the highlight of my year!”

Prior to the lockdown, keyboardist/vocalist Lawrence Gowan had laid down many vocal and instrumental tracks in Nashville in the fall of 2019, including some of the synthesized flourishes that reign over the unifying come-together entreaty of “Common Ground” that recall The Who at their Quadrophenia peak. “And then I also got to use some gear I never thought I’d have the chance to play on a STYX record, like Tommy’s Hammond B3 organ,” he confirms. Gowan later followed through with a number of additional keyboard elements (with his vintage Minimoog and Mellotron among them) and other lead and background vocal duties from his homebase in Toronto. Meanwhile, drummer Todd Sucherman was ensconced in Austin, having recorded all his world-class percussion in his home studio with the help of Audiomovers Listento plug-in technology without compromising the quality of his playing in the least. “You know how meticulous I am when it comes to recording my drum parts,” Sucherman affirms, “and using Audiomovers ensured I could do everything I wanted on each track with nothing left to chance.”

The title track holds the unique distinction of featuring three lead vocalists, with JY lending his distinctive baritone to the opening verses, Tommy heading up the heroic stacked-vocal middle section, and Lawrence taking the lead for the final verse — another STYX first. “Perhaps the closest thing to it for me would be how Tommy and I traded lead vocals on ‘Snowblind,’” observes JY in reference to the foreboding, concert-favorite track from STYX’s chart-topping multiplatinum 1981 release, Paradise Theatre. For his part, producer Evankovich — who co-wrote the bulk of COTC with Shaw in addition to singing and playing a multitude of instruments throughout the entire album — freely admits he was hoping to coax a David Bowie-circa-“Cat People (Putting Out Fire)” vocal vibe from Young, who was mostly happy to comply. “Will would sometimes ask me to do up to eight passes on various things, and I never like to do more than two or three,” Young recalls with a booming laugh. “But I respect Will as a producer and Tommy’s vision for the album, so we made it work. I gave them plenty of options.”

One of Shaw’s pivotal COTC contributions comes courtesy “Our Wonderful Lives,” a song he first previewed acoustically during the Big Love Benefit Concert that streamed online in January 2021 — and a track that serves as a stirring ode to taking stock of the finer points of life amidst trying times. It’s also the first-ever STYX song to feature a banjo, an instrument Shaw has occasionally played onstage as well as on some of his own solo recordings. “I never imagined playing banjo on a STYX record,” reveals Tommy, “but as we were cutting ‘Our Wonderful Lives,’ I thought maybe a touch of Americana might work — so I auditioned it, and it felt like it belonged.” Not only that, but another, er, wonderful “Lives” surprise comes by way of the jubilant piccolo trumpet solo from guest performer Steve Patrick, which exhibits quite the deliberate Beatlesque flair.

After spending the past year on the touring sidelines because of the pandemic, STYX are beyond eager to play as much of Crash of the Crown live as they can once they return to the road this summer. “I can’t wait to feel that group energy when we get back on the same stage together again,” Shaw admits. “We did something extraordinary in creating COTC. It came to us so naturally, and we can’t wait to bring these songs to life the way they’re meant to be played.”

Until STYX does full justice to COTC out on the planks, we have its 15 majestic studio tracks to continue taking us to new and renewed aural heights. Beyond the shadow of a royal doubt, I hereby decree Crash of the Crown to be a timeless album for the ages. Long live the king!

HIP HOP RECORDING ARTIST 'NICKY MONROE' TALKS NEW EP "ELEVATION" AND MORE!!

Nicky Monroe blends multiple styles to create new genre showcased on hot new EP ‘Elevation’

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST BELOW!!

NIKKI MONROE (32:13)

Download the MP3

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – Take a dash of the lyricism and aggressive energy you get from Missy Elliott or Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopez, sprinkle that with brashness of artists like Beyonce or Janet Jackson, and finish it off with a healthy dose of Southern style with lyrics that are raw and real, and you get the fresh new sound from Florida-based artist Nicky Monroe. Her sound is unlike anything else in the music industry today, and it’s something that’s featured in full effect on her latest EP “Elevation.”

The project is one that she’s been developing for more than a year, and comes after a journey in the music industry that spans nearly a decade. She’s released music in the past that has brought forth many worthwhile accolades, but she admits that they were merely stepping stones to the high-quality productions she’s now offering with this EP.

“To me, it’s the perfect EP,” she said. “Each song is very different. If you’re looking for an artist with one style, I’m not that person. I don’t fit in one category. I listen to all kinds of different music. I like to make great music and not be stuck in one category. This project is very diverse. Each track gets better and better and builds and elevates.”

The project starts with “Road May Go,” a track Monroe said she wrote because she was going through a lot of different changes in her life – from losing friends and family to chasing down opportunities with her music. She recalls a lot of prayers in which she asked God to show her who was for her and remove anyone who wasn’t.

“It was crazy the way friendships started falling apart and people who were trying to step on my toes just went away,” she said. “I came up with this song because I don’t know where the road may be taking me, but I know I won’t fold and I’ll stand ten toes in the paint.”

The second track on the EP is “So Tired,” which is perhaps the most radio-ready single on the whole project. It has more of a laid-back, calm vibe set against lyrics that explore the every day struggle of ducking and dodging trouble. Monroe said people look at her and see jewelry and nice clothes and assume she has it all together, but like all people she battles her own struggles. This song is about the internal battle that often rages inside people despite how strongly they flex and shine to the outside world.

That’s followed by “Hunnit Rounds,” which is a Southern style aggressive hip-hop groove that has been getting some major attention from fans all throughout the South. Monroe talks some real smack on this track, and serves a notice to all the haters that she won’t put up with any of their BS.

“I’m not a gangsta rapper or talk about shooting and killing people,” she said. “But if it came to the point where I had to defend myself, I do know people who are licensed and legal to handle that. I’m just letting people know that I got a Hunnit Rounds and a hunnit clips, so just leave me alone and there won’t be no issues.”

Monroe finishes off the EP with “Nicky’s Dangerous” and “Humble.” The first features Jamaican artist Nicky Greed, who has been making waves in the industry for the better part of a decade. He brings an Island vibe to the track that plays well against Monroe’s hard-edged grittiness. On “Humble,” Monroe concludes with a sentiment that she not only hopes to present through her own character, but which she hopes to inspire in others, as well.

“Regardless of everything going on around me, I just want to remain humble,” she said. “That’s a message that needs to be spread around, especially in hip-hop. Everyone wants to be arrogant or the boss or the baddest. You can be all that, but remain humble. That’s how you keep it all. You don’t want to lose it, so through your struggles and triumphs just remain humble. Everything happens for a reason, and when it’s your time it will definitely come. But when you’re not humble, you can play yourself out of what was for you.”

R&B RECORDING ARTIST 'COCO KIMMIE' TALKS ABOUT HER NEW SINGLE "SHINE" AND MORE!!

Coco Kimmie continues to ‘Shine’ with latest hit single

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST BELOW!

CO CO KIMMIE (24:17)

Download the MP3

VIRGINIA – In a time in the world’s history when there’s so much darkness, pain and suffering, it’s so much more important to shine a beacon of hope. That’s the message behind the latest hit single from fast-rising vocalist Coco Kimmie. “Shine” is an exploration of joy as it weaves wonderful ways of caring for each other by embracing natural gifts, talents and abilities and using those things to make the world a better place. With a vibe that’s indicate of greats like Beyonce and Lauryn Hill, Coco Kimmie’s style showcases a mastery of R&B, Hip-Hop and Gospel – and this new single is yet another shining example of how this multi-talented artist continues to deliver the hits.

“There’s so much uncertainty right now with what’s going on in the world and what we’re all experiencing that I believe the lesson of this song is applicable to all of us,” she said. “We need to keep shining and sharing our gifts with the world and being a beacon of light in a time when we need to have hope and to give other people hope. We’re going to have trials in life – that’s part of the experience and the journey. But don’t give up. Keep trying. We all have an internal strength that we can draw upon to continue to move forward in life and encourage one another.”

Born and raised in New Jersey, Coco Kimmie started singing as a young child in the church. She learned to play the piano by ear and was trained to play classical music as an adolescent. Her mom loved Gospel and James Brown, and her dad loved Blues and Country music, so she was exposed to several genres from an early age. When she attended college at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, she sang in the USAFA Cadet Gospel choir and recorded her first CD. She served for 21-plus years in the U.S. Air Force, and upon her retirement in 2015 was inspired to sing again by her daughter. She began singing with the Chocolate Factory Band in 2019, performing in places such as the Sunset Room National Harbor in Marlyand and some upscale private parties through Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia. After working with some other artists in the industry, Coco Kimmie eventually started working on her own music and launched her solo career at the beginning of 2021 with her first single “Keep Ya Head Up.” She’s now following that up with “Shine,” and she said there’s plenty more music planned for this year.

“I’ve taken a different journey through life, and that journey didn’t initially focus on my creativity,” Kimmie said. “I’ve been active duty military for 21 years, but I’ve often thought about the fact that when I was younger my family would tell me I had a gift given to me by the Creator, and not to hide it but share it with the world. That came to the forefront during this whole global pandemic experience, and I drew on that as my source of strength. Singing was my saving grace during this difficult time, and now I’m jumping in with both feet and sharing it with the world. If I can inspire even one person, that’s a huge benefit to the world. There are so many people wondering when this is all gonna be over and when we can get back to some kind of normalcy. Things are going to change and there will be a new normal, but instead of focusing on that we should focus on what our purpose is and what our gifts are and sharing that with other people. Let’s help one another get through difficult times.”

In addition to “Shine,” Coco Kimmie said she’s looking to launch another single called “Be Strong” sometime early this summer. She also has an EP called “Namaste Free All Day” that will be released later this year.

MUSIC RECORDING ARTIST "LITTLE MOSES" TALKS NEW RECORD 'THE RAIN CAME FALLING DOWN' AND ALSO SELF TITLED SINGLE!

Jazz, Funk and Blues adopt modern-day twist on sophomore album from hit-maker Little Moses Jones

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST BELOW!!

Little Moses (30:42)

Download the MP3

DENVER, CO – Little Moses Jones has always been an overachiever when it comes to music. At 5 years old he answered music’s calling before his feet could even touch the floor when sitting at a piano bench, and for the next 30 years he continued his devotion to learning and perfecting as many facets of the art and industry as possible. Today he’s become known as one of the most expressive musicians in the Jazz, R&B, Funk and Blues genres, and his latest album “The Rain Came Falling Down” is a blast of amazing sounds and vibes that feature award-winning artists from Gladys Knight, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Dotsero.

Overachiever? Indeed. But if this new project shows anything it’s that Little Moses isn’t resting on his laurels. This second funk and blues-oriented project is a powerful expression of big band music perfect for the atmosphere and environment of today’s music industry. Not only does it indicate that there are many more good things to come from Little Moses over the next decades, but it also shows the world an artist at the top of his game presenting a mastery of his art.

The debut single from the project is the perfect example of how Little Moses is tapped in at the height of his game. Taking its name from the project, the single “The Rain Came Falling Down” features artists Tim Huston, Jazzie J, and Tony Exum Jr. The song originated with Huston, who at the time had been writing a song for the legendary Anita Baker. He’d been wanting to work with Little Moses for a while, and when the latter provided some music for Huston to listen to, things just clicked.

“He put his lyrics with my music and when they came together it just turned out nice,” Little Moses said. “It has a nice soul, funk, contemporary sound, with lyrics that talk about relationships and splitting ways and moving on. I’ve always been a big band guy with that old-school, big type of sound. I like to play with the funk and old-school sounds, but then add in new elements to create a fresh vibe. You can hear a lot of influences, like Earth Wind & Fire, Kool and the Gang, and Bruno Mars. I just like good old music – the kind of music that used to mean something. Nowadays I feel like a lot of music doesn’t have a lot of meaning, and I want to get back to that true essence. I’m providing great music for people to listen to and enjoy.”

If his accolades are any indication, fans all over the world are loving the music that he’s bringing. Through his career he’s mastered multiple instruments – all of the various saxophones, piano, tuba, drums and other percussion instruments, and more – and he’s built and directed dozens of highly successful dance and party bands. He’s performed more than 1,500 live concerts, and managed and assisted many other artists toward successful careers. His previous album “Legendary” hit No. 1 on the Latin Jazz R&B Funk & Blues charts, and his radio show LMSS Radio has thousands of regular listeners from all over the world.

Following the release of “The Rain Came Falling Down,” Little Moses said he plans on releasing a couple more singles later this year – “Making Crazy” and “Perfect For Me.” To listen to his music, or to follow him on social media, please visit the following links:

ARTIST 9 STOPS BY AND TALKS NEW SINGLES "SMILE" AND "MY BOO" PLUS MORE!

The Artist 9 Lifts Our Collective Spirit With New Single “Smile”

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST BELOW!!

THE ARTIST 9 (16:53)

Download the MP3

With his bright, upbeat new single, The Artist 9 makes us all “Smile.” The song’s smooth percussion helps ring in the spring season. As COVID restrictions come down, “Smile” serves as a welcome transition back to the outside world. “And I said hey,” sings the Artist 9. “Them problems gon go away/I promise girl it’s okay/I wanna see you smile.”

But The Artist 9 has many more cards in his hands. He expressed pride in another new track, “My Boo.” “That was really catchy,” said The Artist 9. “It’s got a fast-paced beat to it, and it has a different sound to it. It’s a good song for people to drive and listen to. All good energy.”

The Artist 9’s manager and business partner, Lavale Byrd, emphasized his passion for “My Boo.” “That track is hot,” said Lavale. “It’s gonna be a banger. The sound is pure originality. There’s no Autotune on it or anything like that. ‘Smile’ is the music that a lot of audiences are looking for.”

The Artist 9 refuses to be classified or have his craft isolated within a single genre. “The Artist 9 doesn’t make trap music because he's not a trap guy,” Lavale explained. "He's a college kid. We don't have time for flashy. We’re trying to open up an avenue for people. Whether there's somebody that's 65 or 15, we want them to hear it and understand it.”

Another important element of The Artist 9’s music is his willingness to look closely at tragedy. 9’s song “See Me Blow” mourns the loss of a dear friend who passed too early. “His name was Derek,” remembered The Artist 9. “He was killed in a motorcycle accident a couple of years back. It didn’t just affect me. It affected everyone around me.” “See Me Blow” finds The Artist 9 reflecting on the fragility of life. “I stay alert,” he explained. “I stay watching around.”

Fans of The Artist 9’s work should pay attention. He gave some details of his upcoming album release. “My World will be the name of the next project to drop,” said The Artist 9. “It’s just gonna be me giving you all these different sides, or places that I’m in when I made these songs. That’s what I want to go for as an artist.”

Committed to diversifying his sound, The Artist 9 assured fans that they should never expect him to be comfortable with a single musical style. “You’re never going to get one type of music from me,” vowed The Artist 9. “Because I feel like I’m not one type of person. I feel like everybody has moments where they want to open up. Moments when they want to be hype. So I speak for the unspoken.”

The Artist 9’s music comes courtesy of Lavale Byrd and Kloud 9 Records, an independent record label located in northern Alabama. “The Artist 9 will be the first mainstream artist to come out of this area,” proclaimed Lavale. “We stay humble, we stay focused. And we make dreams a reality.”

ATLANTA, GA – Claudel Fabien has never had the kind of family life that most would call ideal. At age 13 his mother passed away, and on the day of her funeral his dad kicked him out of the house. He remained homeless for a little more than a year before his best friend took him in. He has two sisters and a brother who don’t talk to him, and on the random times he would interact with his father in his teenager years it was contentious, at best. Essentially, he grew up without a family and had to learn to fend for himself and do whatever he had to do to survive.

That’s the story he weaves with clever-but-aggressive wordplay on his latest single “Family,” which is currently available across all streaming platforms. Operating under the stage name Baby Chuckii – a name given to him in elementary school when he was dared by another student to stab someone with a pencil … and he did – this up-and-coming Southern rapper has a pocket full of stories and a determination to succeed in the industry. With those two things combined, he’s on a mission to make music that inspires other people to push through any hardship to achieve the dreams they have for themselves.

“Everybody has a story,” Baby Chuckii said. “Everybody came from somewhere and has their story to tell. What sets me apart is that I can’t rap about nothing else but that. Other rappers usually tell their stories and then drift off into other realms of rap. I can’t do that because there’s just too much of a story to tell. This first song, ‘Family,’ is just the tip of the iceberg for me. It’s the beginning of what happened with me in life, and it’s all truth.”

Inspired by artists like Lil Baby, Rod Wave, and NBA YoungBoy, Baby Chuckii has developed a sound and style that is all his own. He has a distinct cadence, and the raw edge of his delivery definitely captures the tension that permeates his life while also building energy from which listeners all over the world can draw. But more than anything, he makes music that shares raw, unaltered truth.

“I really want people to hear it and know that the struggle is not everlasting,” he said. “That’s why my label is called Mind Over Matter. I came from the deepest part of hell and I made it out. I want everyone to know that no matter what the issue is or problem is, it’s not forever. The storm comes and then the sun comes back out. At one point in my life I thought it was over. People thought I would die before I turned 21, or end up in prison. Thank God those things didn’t happen to me. And I want people to see my story and to know that no matter the odds that are stacked up against you, there’s nothing out of your control to change your circumstances.”

In addition to “Family,” Baby Chuckii said he has another single called “On My Block” that should drop later this summer. To listen to his music, or to follow him on social media, please visit the following links:

HIP HOP RECORDING ARTIST "BIG JOKO" STOPS BY AND TALKS NEW SINGLE 'BLICKY BLICKY' AND MORE!

Midwest rapper Big Joko drops fun new single ‘Blicky Blicky’

CHICAGO, IL – A fun, catchy song with a nice little bap to it is making its rounds through the Midwest on its way to international notoriety. “Blicky Blicky” is the latest hit single from Chicago-based artist Big Joko. But unlike most of the Drill music coming out of Chicago, Big Joko’s sound is completely different than every other rapper from that town. In fact, he tries to stay as far away from that music scene as possible so that he can stand out from the crowd. His main goal is to create songs that with catchy hooks that will get stuck in listeners’ heads – and that’s exactly what he’s accomplished with “Blicky Blicky.”

“It’s such a catchy song that it made it to radio here in Chicago without any kind of promotion or anything,” he said. “Now it’s made its way down to Atlanta and North Carolina and all over the South. The YouTube video is climbing closer to 100,000 views. People are loving it!”

Big Joko said the term “Blicky Blicky” is new street lingo used to refer to a weapon, and he’s using the song to draw attention to the violence and problem with guns throughout Chicago. While the song is a fun and upbeat vibe, he’s using it as a way to draw attention to a problem that he said needs to be fixed. And like his favorite artists Lil Wayne and Cassidy, he wants to use great music to inspire and motivate the masses.

“I want to be respected as a great artist,” he said. “I’m very creative. When people hear my shit I’m looking for a certain reaction – a smile or a head nod or an ‘Oooh!’ When you talk about great rappers and artists with bars who could make any type of hit or get on anybody’s song and kill it and deliver it, I hope they talk about me in that same breath.”

Big Joko said he first started rapping when he was 8 years old after hearing Lil BowWow for the first time. He said he was impressed that someone who was only 11 years old could make a song that became so popular, and it convinced him that he, too, could make good music even at a young age. He went home and wrote his first rap, and it has only elevated from there over the past decade-plus of making music. With help from his cousin – who was a member of the notorious Chicago group 3Piece – he learned the ins-and-outs of the industry and worked hard to develop his unique sound and style. Today he’s become known as a hit-maker, and his music is spreading beyond just the Midwest into all parts of the globe.

Following “Blicky Blicky,” Big Joko said he’s developing a full project that he hopes to release later this year. He also has a new single called “Cha Cha” that taps into a Reggae vibe that should drop in July.

MUSIC RECORDING ARTIST "STAND - IN " TALKS NEW EP 'THIS ONE'S FOR THE SKINNY JEANS IN HIGH SCHOOL'

Former dancer for P!NK taps into magic combination of pop/punk and lo-fi ambience on new EP

LOS ANGELES, CA – After years as a professional dancer, touring the world with P!'NK’s “Beautiful Trauma World Tour,” West Coast multi-faceted artist Anthony “STAND-IN” Westlake has launched a new career as a recording artist. His debut EP “This One’s For The Skinny Jeans In High School” is an alt-rock, pop/punk, heavy guitar-driven angst-fest of heart-felt sounds and vibes that serves as a great introduction to the originality of this young up-and-coming musician.

“This EP is all of the shit I would have liked to say if I had the balls to when I was in high school, and how I would have liked to say it,” he said. “I had a relationship with a songwriter, and when it went south, I realized I had fallen out of love with her and into love with the thing she loved (songwriting). I was in a weird head space, and though I had never been one to write down what I was feeling, I decided to try songwriting. While on tour In Europe, I bought a small audio interface, grabbed a guitar and I still remember on June 13, 2019, while we were in Amsterdam, I loaded up Logic for the first time and tried to put the thoughts I’d written down into a song. I did that for the next three months while in Europe when I had the freedom to, and when we came back to LA I built a home studio and dove into it. I don’t know when it became serious, but I feel like it’s always been a part of me. The more I do it, the more I realize how important music really has been to me.”

STAND-IN went on to say that his first inclination when approaching songwriting was to explore sounds within the lo-fi, R&B world. He was writing about love, relationships and breakups. He said it felt natural to incorporate sounds from those genres to go with his lyrics. After a year of producing and writing every day, he hit a point where he was uninspired and almost burnt out on the music he was making. He started searching for new sounds and took a deep dive into some of his old playlists from high school – the type of music he listened to when his jeans were too tight and his hair had too much gel in it, including artists such as Fall Out Boy, All Time Low, and blink-182, among others. The alt-rock, pop-punk sound started to evoke memories, and he remembered how much that kind of music impacted him. Soon after, he realized there’s a new wave of that sound emerging in the industry. As he started creating and emulating some of what he’d been listening to, songs just started flowing out of him.

The stand-out track on the project is a great example of the magic that came from that process. “Burn It Down” is a narrative that he said a lot of people will be able to relate to. It’s about a relationship that you know is going nowhere, yet you try to convince yourself that you can make it through.

“You know it’s doomed, but you wanna stay in it because it still feels good,” STAND-IN said. “It’s those last fleeting moments leading up to when it breaks you. When I finished ‘Burn It Down,’ it was the first time I felt like I was making music that came from a real place. It’s a little scary because it feels like a piece of me. I definitely still incorporate a lot of lo-fi and R&B elements into my music, but ‘Burn It Down’ was really my first step into the pop/punk world which, at least for now, is the type of music I want to be making.”

More music is definitely coming, STAND-IN said. But first he’s eager for new listeners to check out his debut EP. “This One’s For The Skinny Jeans In High School” goes live on all streaming platforms May 28. HIP HOP RECORDING ARTIST "Z-GANG" STOPS BY TO TALK NEW EP 'HOME COOKING 2' AND MORE!

Chicago Rapper and ‘Street Teacher’ Z-Gang Brings New Flavors on Home Cooking 2

Z GANG - CHICAGO BASED HIP HOP ARTIST / SINGER SONG WRITER/ PRODUCER (20:46)

(Chicago)

“It's real. Take it serious. I'm teaching the youth. This ain't just boppity bop music. You'll hear my words clearly,” says Chicago rapper Z-Gang. Drawing on a wealth of backstory from being an acrobat as a child with the Jesse White Tumblers to helping to keep peace in the streets to recovering from a severe car accident, this rapper has no shortage of perspective to offer. He brings those viewpoints—as well as his own stories—to Home Cooking 2, his second EP, due out May 28.

Coming on the heels of Home Cooking 1, dropped at Thanksgiving 2020, the new EP continues to introduce the artist, with the help of impressive guest-stars  Katiegotbandz and Matisse Love. He feels blessed to have surrounded himself with such a strong and supportive team. It is a bit like cooking a meal with people you like and how much better the food tastes.

Like home cooking. Smiling audibly as he explains the title, Z-Gang says “It’s like home cooking. It's the best of everything. It's seasoned well. There's nothing like it.” The artist has been around long enough to see trends come and go and therefore to be confident he offers listeners something new. One song on the EP, “New Shxt,” celebrates that power of innovation and growth.

Yet, the rapper himself nearly wasn’t here to make the song at all. “People don't know I died in a car accident in 2019. I couldn't walk. Everything felt like it was over. I couldn't stay sitting still. I had to get back to me. I was working two jobs. I had to stop working 'cause I couldn’t stand long. I got back up, and I ain't sitting down,” he promises. In that spirit, he’s already formed his own label where he is the manager, producer, artist, and everything else.

Another standout track is the party song “Left Right,” a challenge song featuring Queen of Drill Katiegotbandz.

But the artist has a more sensual side too, one on display in “You,” a song he says is for the ladies. “It’s summertime in the islands, you’re with your significant other,” he says, trailing off to imply where the songs leads. “It’s a hip hop song and an R&B song,” Z-Gangs says.

Despite the versatility he displays on the new project, there’s one thing you’ll never hear him do, and that’s glamourize the gang lifestyle.  “I don't condone that gang-banging stuff. I'm Z-Gang, but that's Zillionaire Gang because we're about earning and growth. Not hanging out on the street,” he explains. He’s even acquired the well-earned nickname “the Street Teacher” for his peacekeeping efforts. “I've stopped shootouts from happening. I've done a lot in my community. I actually teach the street kids to stop doing what they're doing, even though they ain't gonna listen. At my studio, two oppositions were there, and I made them work together and shoot a video together. Nobody went to jail and nobody got shot,” he says.

Z-Gang’s second EP, Home Cooking 2, will be out everywhere May 28.
