It's been a great trip home. Spending time with family is a must do, and I had a great time. The trip started out great, I got to see the new Yankee stadium being built for the 2009 season, in The Bronx, NYC.
As many of you know, I don't like to miss a good meal, and having the best pizza and Italian food in the country surrounding me every day, I was in heaven. Then I took a small road trip, and headed to Providence, Rhode Island. I stopped by Roland Estrada's gym, home of U.S. Olympian, and current heavyweight contender, Jason Estrada. I want to thank Jason and Roland for making me feel like home. They treated the entire Boxing Herald team like family. Meeting Dan Horgan, and Ed Anderson was a real pleasure as well.
After my visit with the Estrada's, I headed a few miles up I95 North, and stopped by Peter Manfredo Jr's gym. When I walked into the gym, I was stunned by how large it was. Peter Manfredo Sr gave us a great tour of the place, and informed me that the gym was 13,000 square ft. WOW!
As any class act Italian would do, Peter Manfredo Jr took me, my brother Scott, my nephew Brendan, and the rest of the Boxing Herald team to the best restaurant in Providence, located in the Little Italy section of the city. ANGELO'S restaurant in Providence is a must. After some great conversation, and a great meal, I thanked Manfredo for a great time, and headed back to Danbury, CT. It's been a great time, but now I am ready to get back home, and get back on the stick and knockout some interviews again. Look for them, coming soon!
