Musical Artist AYR Majesty Releases Dedicated Album, Jxnna
By: Nadia Sobehart
Musician, producer, and director, AYR Majesty, creates music designed to “evoke emotions and enthrall hearts.” He recently released Jxnna, an experimental, dark album dedicated to a mysterious muse. “It’s a personal album,” shares the artist. “Stylistically, my album goes all over the place—I’m just creative like that.”
While balancing multiple genres and styles, the album tends toward R&B. Experimenting with a wide range of musical instruments and specialized vocal engineering, AYR Majesty is able to create a unique sound of his own. His passion for music drives him to create and share his personalized blend which captures the many genres he’s fond of.
“My favorite song off the album is ‘I’m Sorry.’ The album is a dedication to somebody that inspired me to start singing,” explains AYR Majesty. “There’s not a lot of ways you can show appreciation for people, but I felt this was a pretty good way. Most of my music is directed toward that person.”
Born in Los Angeles, the young artist had a nomadic childhood that also included bouts of homelessness. He grew used to being the “dreamy new kid.” “My first dream in life was to be one of the greats in the NFL,” shares AYR Majesty. “I spent several years pursuing that dream as a college quarterback in Texas.” It was during that period in his life that AYR Majesty began recording rap—much to his roommates’ dismay. It wasn’t until 2023 that the rapper transitioned to singing, which he once thought was “reserved for singers.” A fan of old Hollywood film, Ayr Majesty also focuses on directing and producing films.
When it comes to writing, AYR Majesty generally starts with instrumentals from one of the many producers he works with in Los Angeles. “I usually start with a beat, and then the ideas flow in from what I feel. Then I’ll write on top of that. Some songs I can finish in a few days. ‘I’m Sorry’ I did in one night.”
AYR Majesty is an artist who likes to “break the rules, innovate, and play creatively.” The musician cites Michael Jackson, Drake, and Kanye as artists he has drawn inspiration from over the years. The result of having boundless creativity is developing music that never sounds the same yet preserves a touch unique to the artist. AYR Majesty’s creativity isn’t only about surprising listeners with its freshness—he also seeks to resonate with them and connect on a level only music can reach.
“I like to be creative in general. And music has been with me the whole time. When I finally started singing, I had feedback from people who said they liked my voice. It made me realize I was too harsh on myself this whole time. So I dedicated this past year to finding my voice.”
“If anything, I want my listeners to know it’s okay to be honest and express yourself. If you try to be someone else, you’ll feel bad because you can’t be that person. At the end of the day, it’s not up to you if people like you—so just be yourself. This album is an expression—honest, open. I feel like that’s why I was able to do it. I wasn’t trying to be something, I was just saying what I felt.”
Following the release of Jxnna, AYR Majesty is looking forward to taking a step back from music and work on production. “I think this is probably the most difficult project I’ve worked on. It got to the point it was all I was thinking about. I’m glad it’s done, even if I’ll always find it unfinished since I’m a perfectionist.”
