DALLAS, TX – Music has always been there when Troy Remedy needed it the most. As a young boy growing up in West Texas, he often struggled with making sense of his different emotions and life’s trials and tribulations. But he always found answers in blues, soul, jazz and old-school classic rock. Then as a youth an older acquaintance dropped "36 Chambers" on him, and he was hooked on hip-hop thereafter.  

“Been through the madness just like the next person but always gravitated towards music to alleviate the pain,” he said. “I considered it a lifeline. It eventually turned into a relentless desire to see what my own capabilities were as an artist. That’s how it began.”  

It hasn’t been easy, though, and in many ways Troy Remedy has been viewed as an underdog in the industry. He’s been kind of an outsider – but given that music has always been a remedy to the struggle of his spirit and the only outlet that has saved him from falling deep into trouble or depression, the passion is clearly felt and exuded throughout.

BROOKLYN, NY – Lefty Frizzel Sanders Jr. – better known as Smoove’L Rapper – is a hot up-andcoming young artist whose diverse music is making a splash across the country. If you haven’t heard of him yet, it’s time to sit up and pay attention.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, this young man grew up in the notorious 44 Park neighborhood of Brooklyn. Like many from that neighborhood, he grew up looking for a way out. For much of his young life, that way out was basketball. He excelled at the sport. But by high school he got into trouble and suspensions and expulsions piled up, making it impossible for him to play for any varsity team. Desperate for something else, he started exploring his skills as a rapper.

Smoove’L said, “My mom did everything she could do to provide for us.  So I’m forever in her debt. On top of that, I’m extremely inspired by the things I didn’t have.”

The inspiration for hip-hop came from his friend, Bryce who introduced him to names like Chief Keef, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and Bobby Brown. Pretty soon Smoove discovered he had a natural talent for lyricism, and a pretty good voice. He joined a group called CLN, and they dropped a song called “Call My Phone” after graduating from 8th grade. That song went on to gain nearly 300,000 plays on Soundcloud. It was enough to get him hooked, and he hasn’t looked back since. He’s released multiple singles and a couple of mixtapes over the past couple of years, and has been steadily gaining a fan-base. Most recently he released the singles
“Victoria Secret” – which tells the story of his journey so far – and “Fantasy” – which is about the neighborhood he grew up in and the people who are always faking it and living in a “fantasy world.” Both singles showcase his adept ability to weave lyrics, and both showcase his unique vocal talents in incredible ways. And more than anything, his body of work to date shows off a musician who is comfortable in any genre of music.

“I’m more of a storyteller than anything else, but you can put me on trap beats or soul beats or I can do pop or I can do hype beats,” he said. “I sing and I’m lyrical and I can rap. When you put that lyrical and that storytelling together it makes it great. I also don’t do the things to get attention that a lot of other artists out there do. I don’t have tattoos. I don’t do no drugs. I don’t have a jail record. I don’t need tattoos or to ride hell to get attention. If you know you have talent, just go with it. And that’s what I want my music to be known for. I’m a guy who is telling the truth. I’m real. I’m lyrical. I’m versatile. And with my music you will always get a positive vibe.”

Ultimately, Smoove’L said he hopes people will listen to his music and know that they can achieve whatever they set their minds to. He said he hopes his life is an example of someone who life said wouldn’t make it, but with hard work and talent he was able to carve a niche in the music industry and make a name for himself.

LOS ANGELES, CA – You may know him as Marcus Brooks, but the fans know him as Marcus Christ. Originally from Silver Springs, Maryland, this artist has made some recent waves in the underground hip-hop community. His introduction to the world of hip-hop occurred when stars like Tupac and Biggie were at the forefront, which inspired him to follow the music, naturally. After his father went to jail, he found himself delving into songwriting, which soon went beyond merely a hobby. 

In high school, Marcus was an integral part of a hip-hop group called Four Six Lane. His budding career as a rap artist began to unfold, and Marcus followed the beat. "My hobby became my career. I started to figure out what I wanted my sound to be as a solo artist. It's dynamic, that's for sure," said Marcus Christ. To his point, the artist feels comfortable jumping from genre to genre, as he doesn't want to ever feel limited. Because of this, his versatility is almost unmatched, which makes him so appealing to his growing fanbase.  

Marcus Christ is bringing all the heat with his new single, "I Don't Care". The song is a little different from his usual laid back, chill vibe, and equally, a must listen. "This is a party track. The whole idea comes from just being carefree in the club. It definitely has a dance vibe to it," said Marcus Christ. If you've been in search of a good anthem that will hype you up, "I Don't Care" will be your go-to jam. Fans can expect to see the song on his upcoming two-disc album later in the year. 

On the topic of a new album, Christ is always working toward his next project. He looks to music as a way to get things off his chest- almost like a creative catharsis. As he diverts his attention to his label and developing talent through new artists, he's excited to put the finishing touches on "Prince of the Universe". Though as of now there isn't a release date determined, he promises us 30 tracks of good vibes, good messaging, and overall genuinely good music. Stay tuned!

RICHMOND, CA – Kevin Roberts – known professionally as K-Rob the Singer – is a versatile entertainer that you need to have your eye on. Operating out of the Bay Area of California, this R&B singer/songwriter is also an actor, film producer, director and owner of his own music publishing company, FloStyle Music Publishing. He and his brother, FloRocker, also own the record production company FloStyle Entertainment, through which they’re releasing his newest single, “Six Figures.” 

After years producing music on his own and seeing success along the West Coast and throughout his region, K-Rob said he’s ready to take his career to the next level. “Six Figures” is the song that he said is sure to put him on the map.

“It’s about living a high-end lifestyle and everything that comes with that,” he said. “It’s about having the ability to make six-figure purchases. Besides money, it is also about what it means to have and give respect, and also being real and true to the street. It has a heavy bass-line and a good beat with good lyrics to go with it. People are already really loving it.”
K-Rob said “Six Figures” is a great example of the kinds of music he can make, but he’s also eager for fans to get a taste of his wide variety of sounds. He takes pride in the fact that he can be a diverse artist and can come at people from all angles – whether it’s club music, or street music, or even “baby-making music.” 

“I like club music and love songs and everything in between,” he said. “I want to be known for being versatile, and for people to respect that. And I want to be known for telling the story of the streets – the things I’ve seen or that people I know have gone through. I’m preaching to the streets and letting people know what goes on in my hood.”

As a naturally gifted singer, K-Rob grew up singing in church choir and performing for friends and family whenever they asked. As he puts it, he always felt like he was “waiting my turn” to catch that big break and show off his God-given talent to the world. Over the past few years he’s released multiple mixtapes around his area, and the success he’s seen has made him convinced that now is the time to take his music to the global stage.

“I’ve waited for my turn and I knew I needed to grow up a little bit before I decided to put something big out,” he said. “I’ve been doing it, and I feel like it’s time to expand it out and get out there more and go worldwide with it. I’ve broken (sales) records in local retail stores, and I’ve been on major lists for R&B singles for independent artists. Now it’s time for the rest of the world to see what I’ve got.”

In addition to his recent release of “Six Figures,” K-Rob said he’s also in the middle of production on a film with his brother. The two also make and direct music videos – including the video for “Six Figures,” which already has tens of thousands of plays on his YouTube channel.

Aggressive new style to hip-hop and R&B fusion 

LOS ANGELES, CA – A lot of people who meet Hillary Morake would probably call her sweet, friendly and fashionable. All of those things are true. But when the South African artist dons her stage persona, Mo Racks, something unpredictable and raw starts to take over – something that brings a passion and aggressiveness to the music scene.  

Her most recent single, “Smoke,” is the perfect example of this unique style of music. Combining the flavors of R&B and hip-hop with the House music that’s more native to her home country of South Africa, “Smoke” explores the relationship drama that can come from and up-and-down romance. It’s a song that showcases her ability to both sing and rap, while also bringing a powerful beat that demands listeners to move. Though it’s only been out for a short time, it has already garnered some major attention from fans all over the U.S. 

“I started my career about four years ago in South Africa making House music,” Mo Racks said. “I’m a singer, and I have always listened to R&B music. I’ve also always felt shy and it wasn’t until I discovered rap music that I found this outlet to express what was in my heart and my 

head. I write all my songs. I feel like people receive my message better in a rap than just singing. I’m still doing both things in my music, and this song is kind of a perfect blend of everything that I do.” 

The single will be one of six on an upcoming EP that she said is set to drop in mid-February. All of the songs on that EP will deal with the experiences of her life and the journeys she has taken to get to where she is today in her career.  

“This EP will really be about getting to know me and how I am as a musician,” she said. “I don’t say much or speak much on a daily basis, but through my music you can get to know me. Everything in this EP is true and has happened to me or I’ve seen it – and I put it all into song. Coming from a family of entertainers – my mom was a model and my grandma was a dancer – I always knew what it looked like to entertain other people. But now I’m taking it to another level, and this EP is my first steps toward taking it further and trying to go international.” 

Mo Racks worked with engineer Alexey Vonorov on the EP and said she credits a lot of his work for the unique sound that comes through on the project. She also said the EP is just the first of many new projects to come this year, and she’s eager for fans to check out some of the new music she’s been working on.

GodKing Lotto shows off ‘Extra Fly’ music with hot new single 

LOS ANGELES, CA – Lebaron Alexander isn’t just Fly … he’s Extra Fly. He’s not just a king, he’s a GodKing. And his music isn’t just good, it’s spectacular. 

The up-and-coming artist out of Los Angeles is turning heads so fast with his music that it’s almost causing whiplash. And his new single, “Extra Fly,” is quickly becoming the talk of West Coast clubs and radio stations. Put together in collaboration with Jefe Rey, it’s an upbeat club banger that celebrates the “extra” side of life.

“I’m extra fly, and in this song I’m kind of just saying I’m extra fly doing my thing in every way,” GodKing Lotto said. “I talk about my diamonds in the song. I talk about my Cartier being ordered from New York.  I talk about how I’m so fly that people may try to rob me or hate on me or imitate me, but that’s just the highest form of flattery. Then Jefe comes in and just elaborates on that idea a little more. We not just fly, we extra fly.”

Though GodKing has somewhat of a rocky past, he has also risen from the bottom and put in the hard work to make himself successful in multiple endeavors. In addition to being a musician, he’s also a successful businessman and owns his own convenience store in Compton. That store served as the location for his music video for “3 Kings,” featuring Yella Bezzy. This video is set to drop in mid-February. 
GodKing started doing music around age 12 or 13. It started as a joke, of sorts, when he and a friend decided to create a rap for one of their science projects.  The song they did didn’t blow up throughout the school but their teacher loved it and had them perform for a different class to show them off to her co-worker/friend and her class. He was hooked on music from that moment forward.

“After that I tried to everything with music,” he said. “I was always clever with patterns, and I liked the idea of words being put down like patterns. That was fun to me. And I’ve just grown more and more from there. Today I want to be known for having bars and as someone who is lyrical. A lot of these new rappers coming out lack a fundamental element that I think every essential rapper needs, which are skill and a lyrical content. I think the ability to be a lyrical artist with content with huge, and when people hear my music they’ll know I’m a real person with that good lyrical content.”

ORLANDO, FL – You never know where inspiration is going to strike. For Orlando-based hip-hop artist King Varciti, inspiration for his most recent single “Pack” struck while in the car on a long drive.

“I was putting notes on my phone and the hook just came into my head,” he said. “I wrote the whole song before I even found the beat. And then one day I was in my emails and a producer sent me a whole list of beats – like 20 beats – and I started listening and found the perfect beat to go with what I’d written. It’s a real trap song that basically tells the story of how I moved from Orlando – running from the police and having to face the news – on my way to Atlanta. The music video for it has a fun storyline to it.”

The song is a good display of his talent as a musician and of his unique sound as a trap artist. His music label – AMG Hoodstars, of which he is the CEO – not only creates trap music and works with a handful of other artists, but also produces and edits music videos for others. AMG has a studio in Orlando and one in West Virginia. King Varciti said there are even four or five producers on the team, though the producer he used for “Pack” is a producer not affiliated with AMG named Jay Armotto.

All of the music he and the label creates is upbeat and positive. He said the intention behind the music is to get people energized and having fun – forgetting their worries for a little bit and just letting loose and enjoying life.

“I want them to feel the feeling of being turnt up when they listen to my music,” he said. “I want the youngins to listen to somebody who’s been through it. A lot of rappers talk shit but haven’t been through nothing. I think it’s better to listen to somebody who’s been through it. And in my own way I’m telling people to just go out there and get it, however you can get it. But be safe and know that there are consequences to everything you do.”

Some of that mantra he said he learned from a young age. He grew up with a family that had close ties to the hip-hop industry. His uncle worked under the stage name Shambu and worked with a number of bigger names in the industry. And a close family friend whose stage name was The 45 King worked with Eminem and Jay-Z. King Varciti said he learned much watching those artists – as well as EPMD and LL Cool J – and hopes to be able to emulate their success in his own life and entrepreneurial endeavors.

“I’m very versatile,” he said. “The old-heads will like my music as well as the youngins. I have that boom/bap style along with the trap. I do a little harmonizing, also – so I’m touching everything. I don’t sound like anybody else. I just sound like me. I’m different and I’m not trying to sound like anybody else. In fact, before anyone was rapping on dubstep beats I was doing it. I was the first one rapping on dubstep. That just shows you how creative I am and should show you that I have a sound that’s going to touch everybody. Put that together with real lyrics and no gimmicks and you can see why I’m the king.”
