MY CONVERSATION WITH BRIAN VOLLMER OF "HELIX"

Canadian rocker Brian Vollmer knew from an early age that he wanted to be on the big stage singing. His band “Helix” rocked many stages, and continues to do so to this day. Helix landed a recording contract with Capital Records back in 1983 and launched their debut record, “No Rest For The Wicked.” Their hit single off of this record, “Heavy Metal Love” which was their first video on MTV, put them on the map in America, and in many other places around the world. The band followed up with a second record, “Walking The Razor's Edge” which produced the band's second big hit, “Rock You” which became the band's signature song. The album did very well for them, and it's the record that the band is best known for. I recently sat down with the busy Brian Vollmer and talked a little 80's Metal music, and other cool stuff. As I continue to branch out and interview folks outside of the boxing world, it's really been quite a breath of fresh air. I have two cool Podcast's coming up in the next few days. Tomorrow, I'll be talking to Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth, the lead singer of the 80/90's and current thrash metal band "Over Kill." My God, I remember the first time I heard these guys. I bought their "Feel the Fire" cassette from my ship store in the Navy. I'm really looking forward to this interview.

On Wednesday I'll sit down with Joey Allen, the guitarist for the 80's and 90's legendary rock band "Warrant." Cherry Pie was their biggest hit, and to this day it's played all over the world. I'll talk to him about his current projects and more!

One of my ALL time favorite thrash metal bands of the 80's and 90's, "OVER KILL" to this day still tour and do what they love. I was in the Navy in 1984 when I first heard the "Feel The Fire" Album. I was hooked from that day on. I'll be sitting down with the band on Tuesday and will get their thoughts on the new tour, and new album, "The electric age."

My Nephew Brendan leaves for Afghanistan today. Please keep this young Marine in your prayers. My family is feeling a bit uneasy today. We are extremely proud, yet that pride is mixed with some fear as well. I love my Nephew very much.

LETS ELECT MITT ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT

I will wake up tomorrow morning and will cast my vote for Mitt Romney. The polling station is literally walking distance from my house. This is a HUGE election. I have been so fortunate to have been involved in this years election. I attended Rick Santorum's rally, Newt Gingrich rally, and a Romney rally. I got to meet all three men, and really enjoyed the process. Let's take our country back and vote for Mitt!

MY JOURNEY TO A SLIMMER AND HEALTHIER LIFE

I haven't really went public so much with this other than with FB friends, and local friends and family. I have been on a journey toward a healthier and thinner life. With hard, hard, work in the gym with the guidance and support of my buddy Justin Fortune, I have lost a LOT of weight. This journey continues every day. I'm on a very strict nutrition plan, and workout program.
