8CN welcomes Canadian boxing scribe Kevin Nelson on board the 8CN team. We are thrilled that he is on the team. Kevin will be covering both boxing and MMA.

REMEMBERING OUR FALLEN HERO

I live in a community that prides itself in patriotism and faith. Earlier this year one of our own gave his life in order to save three others. Staff Sgt Jason Rogers United States Marine Corp, died in Afghanistan. His story made national news and so did our community when the Westboro Baptist Church (Not REAL Christians) tried to protest at his funeral. THAT isn't happening in Brandon, MS.

So this morning I visited Jason at his grave in Brandon, MS. It was a beautiful cool morning. There was some grass blades that were on his grave stone that I cleaned off and I straightened up a few items that people left so that it looked uniform. All of us need to take a few minutes from time to time and thank our fallen heroes. Jason Rogers USM is certainly a hero.

8CN AND TITO ORTIZ GO ONE ON ONE THIS THURSDAY

He's one of my favorite guys in the sport. Not so much for his LEGENDARY career, but for what he does for our troops. The last time Tito Ortiz was in Mississippi, he changed my friend Darlene's life with his compassion and kindness. Now he's back in Mississippi this Thursday. Looking forward to seeing you again Tito!

8CN WELCOMES SAMAARAH CHOUBAK TO THE TEAM

Honestly? When I saw where Samaarah was previously writing I was a bit surprised. A scribe of her talents having her work published by a site that has a writers list compiled of characters that you would normally see in a Marvel Comic book, was shocking. Just like most of that sites former writers, including yours truly, Samaarah saw what she was dealing with and jumped ship.

Anyway, I'm very happy to have Samaarah on the team. She is now part of a team that is respected in boxing.

Hey, some people have the respect of legends and some people create idiotic fantasy characters and publish garbage. Must suck to be the latter. Roy Jones Jr stopped by the 8CN hotel room in Biloxi, MS this weekend for a visit. We spoke with Roy about the Berto victory over Zaveck, Manny Pacquiao, and a lot more. Off the record we shared some laughs and discussed the usless haters out there that can't seem to help themselves.

Speaking of legends, I ran into Aaron Pryor in Biloxi, as well. What an honor that was. I'll be posting the video interview that I did with both him, and current undefeated heavyweight Deontay Wilder tomorrow.

I broke out my smart phone and made it a point to show a few fighters, promoters, and legends in the sport the so called heart of boxing site that publishes hate articles and garbage TMZ style articles with made up fake characters. Many laughs and looks of disgust followed. I was very clear to point out the site's owner and managing editor's name I might add.
