8CN UPDATE

8CN will be covering this weekend's Deontay Wilder fight in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. I will be picking up former US Olympic Gold Medalist, and two time world champ Mark Breland at Jackson international airport this Friday, and bringing him to Hattiesburg. Breland trains Wilder, and will be working his corner for the fight.

COONEY'S THOUGHTS

It's been awhile since I have had much to say on the old bloggo, so here goes. I will be doing a lot more focusing on 8CountNews.com - I have been very busy working on some outside of boxing projects, and planning my vacations coming up this fall and winter. 8CN will be residing in Hollywood once we determine when Manny Pacquiao's next camp will be.

HALL OF FAME BRAVE PHIL NIEKRO COMES TO MISSISSIPPI

Hall of Fame Atlanta Braves pitcher Phil Niekro came to the AA Braves game in Pearl, MS as a VIP. Niekro did a meet and greet, and I was very honored to meet him. I took a few pictures of him while he did his autograph signing.

LITZAU WANTS A JUAREZ REMATCH

But it doesn't look like he is going to get it. The NABF super featherweight champ spoke with 8CN today and expressed is anger toward HBO for skipping him, and granting Rocky Juarez a TV date Vs. Jorge Linares. Litzau squared off against Juarez a few months ago and was awarded a controversial victory. Litzau had a bad cut over his eye that forced the referee to stop the fight. However, upon looking at the replay, the cut looked like it was as a result of a punch. Nevertheless, Litzau did win the fight. Check out what he had to say at the 8! www.8countnews.com
