COONEY'S THOUGHTS - WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD, OR IS IT?

There's a lot going on in the world right now that has me a little bit on edge. Firstly, let's talk about North Korea. Here you have a country that has isolated itself from the rest of the world, and their leader basically is starving his people to death and would rather build nuclear weapons. Now N Korea has launched 7 long range, and short range missles, and last week detonated a nuclear device. What exactly do the N. Korean's want? What's scary here is that the president of N. Korea is a walking psychopath who I am afraid has the mental instability to launch a first strike at Seoul, or someone else.

Now let's take a looi at Pakistan. Here we have a country with not only nuclear weapons, but they have the means to deliver one. As opposed to N.Korea, Pakistan does have the technology to deliver a nuclear device. Now we have the Taliban, you know? That lovely group of cave dwellers that wouldn't blink an eye to behead a woman for showing her belly, or a bare shoulder in public. These ass clowns are circling the waggons an have advanced to within a few hours of Pakistan's capital. Wouldn't it be just wonderful if these tools got access to a nuclear device?? SCARY, pretty scary isn't it?

Iran - Their leader went on the record in front of hundreds of people, and on Iranian national television and called for the destruction of Israel. This clown, said, and I quote, " Israel should be forced into the sea." Nice kind words from such a lovely person....SCARY. Iran is desperately rushing towards aquiring a nuclear weapon, and if that happens? Hold on to your ass people, because that's the day that the world has become straight up SCREWED.

I predict that Israel will launch a pre-emptive strike on Tehran, or wherever the Iranian Nuclear facilities are located, and I predict that it will happen this within the next two years.

Living in today's world is like walking through a global land-mine field. One wrong step, and CLICK - BANG! SCARY....

So what in the world are we to do? Send in the UN again, you know? those guys with the blue helmets. The group that imposes sanctions upon the big bad bullies of the world, yet do nothing when those sanctions are violated.

China is the key to solving the N.Korean situation. The N.Korean's are terrified of China. Also, and I know this wont sit well with Americans, but China is America's banker. I don't even know the amount of numbers it would take to show how much money that we borrowed from China....SCARY isn't it? I am very interested to see how China handles the N.Korean's. China doesn't want a nuclear N.Korea with a dictator that's willing to drop one in their back yard either.

Israel, with the US blessing will more than likely launch a first strike against the Iranians, IF they feel Iran is about to enrich enough plutoniam to create a nuclear bomb. Israel in my opinion will deal with Iran as to not make it look like America did it...but it will all be with our support under the table.

Enough depressing news for now.... when I want to vent some more, I'll update. Scary...

Once second I am on the chat with a Team Pacquiao member, the next second I hear screeching tires, and loud bang outside my house. A 17 year old teenager traveling at a high rate of speed lost control of his truck, and slammed into a tree right by my house. I was the first person on scene, and literally pulled him out of the truck as fire and smoke was pouring out from under the hood. The kid had his seatbelt on, and thank God he did because he would have been a dead duck, that's for sure. Thankfully, he's ok.

OH THE MEMORIES - US NAVY IN THE HOUSE

I ran into about 50 just recently graduated Navy Seaman in Jackson, MS today. The group just graduated boot camp up in Great Lakes, and were on their way to Meridian Naval Air Station for their schooling. It was a real honor, and such a breath of fresh air to see my Navy brothers and sisters in mass once again. God Bless our troops!

For those of my readers in the Jackson, Mississippi area you have by now heard of the unfortunate news that our Mayor Frank Melton has died. Mayor Melton really had a psssion for the people of Jackson, and although I didn't agree with all of his policies, I admired his passion. We stick together here in Mississippi, this is usually a boxing forum, but under the circumstances this is a fitting time to change it up. Rest in peace Mr Metlon..... :-(

PACQUIAO QUIETS THE DRUMS KNOCKS OUT HATTON IN 2!

Manny Pacquiao once again showed the world why he's the number 1 ranked pound for pound king in the world. A 2nd round blistering knockout over Hatton just put Pacquiao on a level this sport hasn't seen in a very long time, if ever.

Hatton was knocked to the floor twice in the first round, unable to see the blinding handspeed of Manny Pacquiao. The second round was the end, Manny Pacquiao knocked out Hatton with one punch, a blistering left hook. Hatton stayed on the floor as the medical doctors examined him, it was a tremendous left hook. It was evident early in the first round that Manny's hand-speed was going to be way too much for Hatton to handle. Once Pacquiao started to turn Hatton it was all over. Hatton couldn't see where Manny's punches were coming from, but he sure as hell felt them.

Hatton survived the first round beating, and came out for the second round. It would be Hatton's last round of the evening compliments of a perfectly placed Pacquiao left hook. The hook that landed sent Hatton crashing to the ground, where he would lay for several minutes before getting up.

This writer is wondering if Floyd Mayweather Sr has found a hole to go hide in yet, as I am sure Freddie Roach is looking for him in order to share a few post fight words with him. Floyd Sr has made a living over the past 2 months throwing his verbal jabs at Roach calling him "no coach joke Roach." It will be a long flight home for Hatton, who I am sure will live to fight another day. I am guessing he won't be asking for no rematch against Pacquiao though.

Could it be possible that Floyd Mayweather Jr would be the underdog if and when a showdown between himself and Pacquiao ever happened? I do believe so, I believe that Mayweather would find it very difficult to handle Pacquiao's speed.

So once again, Manny Pacquiao demonstrated to the world why he's the pound for pound king. Whoever gets into the ring with him next better be ready.

MAYWEATHER VS MARQUEZ DONE DEAL JULY 18TH!

That's right folks, it's official! Floyd Mayweather Jr has come out of retirement and has signed a contract to fight the ever so dangerous Juan Manuel Marquez. This fight is scheduled for July 18th, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Stay tuned for more updates.

MY OFFICIAL PACQUIAO VS HATTON PREDICTION

OK, here is my official Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton prediction. To me it's a matter of speed, speed, speed. Manny will be too fast for Hatton to handle. I do however believe that Ricky Hatton, fighting at a much more optimal weight than Oscar De La Hoya did, will be very tough for Manny to knockout. I believe it will go the full 12 rounds, but it will be a convincing 12 round UD for Manny Pacquiao
