NEW ORLEANS SAINTS PRO BOWL RUNNING BACK DEUCE MCALLISTER GIVING BACK - DEC 1ST

Every Christmas I have the distinct honor of spending an evening with pro bowl NFL Running Back (New Orleans Saints) Deuce McAllister. Deuce arrives at one of the Wal-Mart stores in my district with 121 orphan children. Each child gets one 100.00 dollar Wal-Mart gift card to go Christmas shopping with. Deuce takes the kids in groups into the store, and shops with them. Deuce pays for this directly out of his own pocket through his Catch 22 foundation, a foundation that raises orphan children.

This will be the third year that I have been providing a security detail for Deuce, and it's truly an honor to have gotten to know him over the years. He is a class act, and proves that each and every time that I see him. This December 1st, I will once again spend the evening with him, and have the honor of seeing the smiles on the kids faces.

Thanksgiving and Christmas time is a time to reflect, and to be thankful for the wonderful things that we have. I am very thankful to have a job that I love, a nice cozy lake house, all my family and friends, and I thank God that my health has improved. I am thankful for many things, and I look forward to an even better 2009.

Before heading into cyberspace, Daryn anchored both news and sports for CNN. Described by the Los Angeles Times as a "CNN mainstay," Daryn traveled the world during her 12-year tenure at CNN, and reported live on-site during numerous global events, including the war in Iraq from Kuwait. Daryn also reported from Africa during a 10-day tour with rock band U2's Bono and U.S. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill, and provided the CNN News networks with in-depth reports on AIDS and famine. Her reports were featured on CNN.com, along with a daily blog that chronicled her reports, experiences, and travels in Africa. Additionally, Daryn reported from across the U.S. to cover numerous Presidential elections, the Space Shuttle Columbia tragedy, and the hunt for the Washington, D.C. sniper.

Daryn was on the air live during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. She reported throughout that day and covered the unfolding event from CNN's world headquarters in Atlanta, as well as from the network's Washington, D.C., bureau, as the crisis turned into a search-and-rescue mission that evolved into a war on terrorism. Before joining the news team on CNN, Daryn served as a news anchor and reporter for CNN/Sports Illustrated, the 24-hour sports news network from CNN and Sports Illustrated, covering such major events as the Super Bowl, the NBA playoffs and international figure skating.

Earlier, Daryn served as a general assignment news reporter at KTVK-TV in Phoenix. During her tenure there, she received three local Emmy Award nominations, and was named top reporter in the seven-state Rocky Mountain region. Her first television job was at KEYT-TV in Santa Barbara, Calif., where she worked as an anchor and reporter. Daryn earned a bachelor's degree in Communication and American Studies from Stanford University.

I GOT REALLY BIG FRIENDS

You never know who you will run into, so it's always a good practice to treat people with some respect. Here is a picture of me at my day job with former Atlanta Falcons/Tennessee Titans Wes Shivers. Wes currently enjoys an undefeated record as an MMA fighter. Look for Wes to make his UFC debut in the near future. As to my day job, I work for Wal-Mart stores as an investigator. Primarily, I investigate organized retail crime IE identity theft, fraud, counterfeit check rings, stolen credit card cases,etc... I work hand in hand with my local law enforcement agencies, including the state attorney generals office.

HATTON WHOOPS MALIGNAGGI

With the drums banging, and the Brits singing, Hatton gave them even more to cheer about. A very impressive 11th round TKO over Paulie "The Magic Man" Malignaggi for Hatton was just what the doctor ordered for the thousands of faithful UK fans.

Malignaggi basically threw one punch throughout the fight, a left jab. Other than that, he grabbed and held for 11 rounds. Hatton's swarming style proved too much for Malignaggi. Paulie just didn't have enough power to hold off Hatton's constant pressuring style.

In the 10th round Malignaggi's corner (Buddy McGirt) said that he was going to throw in the towel if he didn't see something more from Malignaggi. True to his word, early in the 11th round McGirt waved the towel forcing the referee to call a halt to the action.

Malignaggi was behind badly on all cards prior to the stoppage.

BIKA STOPS MANFREDO JR IN 3

Sakio Bika grabbed the IBO super middleweight title by stopping Peter Manfredo Jr in the 3rd round. Manfredo Jr in my opinion fought the absolute wrong kind of fight, he chose to stand in there and bang with a proven big banger. Bika poured on the punches in the 3rd round forcing the referee to stop the fight. Manfredo in my opinion would have done much better if he would have chosen to box instead of bang. But who am I?

WHO SAYS MISSISSIPPI DOESN'T HAVE A FALL?

The Autumn is my favorite time of the year. I took a few snapshots of what Central, Mississippi looks like in the fall. Some people up north don't realize that we too have a fall :-) These pictures were taken from my yard in Brandon, Mississippi.

I WAS NEVER A REAL BIG CALZAGHE FAN.... UNTIL NOW

I was never a real big Joe Calzaghe fan until I read the following quote by him from www.fightnews.com via the London Mirrior -

"Screw Hopkins, man," he told the London Mirror. "He got his a*** kicked by a white boy. He's got to accept that. He's an idiot. A complete a*******. I don't want to give him a rematch. It wouldn't be a good fight. The guy's a racist. He was never going to give me any credit. The way he fought against me in Las Vegas was cowardly because he held on all night and feigned being hit by low blows. He tried to steal the fight."

After I read this, I became a Joe Calzaghe fan for the rest of my life.

WEC CHAMP URIJAH FABER DETHRONED BY BROWN

"The California Kid" WEC World Champion, or should I say FORMER WEC world champion, Urijah Faber finally met his match last night on VERSUS. The relatively unknown Mike Brown was able to slip a back elbow thrown by Faber, and he countered with a perfectly placed right hand that hit Faber right on the button. Faber went down, and Brown pounced on him. Brown through several right hands that were successful in landing, and this forced the referee to stop the fight.

I stayed up until 2 AM in the morning and watched HISTORY being made as President Elect Barack Obama took to the stage, and addressed the world. I am proud to be an American, and proud to have supported Barack Obama from the very beginning. Here is a sample of what he had to say in Chicago last night in his victory speech.
