More than 1 in 6 people in the world have no access to safe drinking water.
1 out of every 4 deaths under the age of 5 worldwide is due to a water-related disease.
In developing countries, about 80% of illnesses are linked to poor water and sanitation conditions.
Over one-third of the world's population has no access to sanitation facilities.
I am excited about taking 8CountNews and joining forces with such a noble cause. Starting in the coming weeks, I, and my business partner, Ed Anderson, and my boxing community will all join forces and raise money for the water project. These monies will build clean drinking water wells in Western Kenya. As you have read above, thousands and thousands of African children die by drinking contaminated water. My 2009 resolution was to become a more selfless person. This is the first of many projects, many journey's that I will partake in. Do you want to join me?
