HIP HOP RECORDING ARTIST 'S7GMA' TALKS ABOUT HIS LATEST TRACKS "NOW" AND "SORRY" PLUS MORE!

 S7GMA Releases Motivational Single ‘NOW’

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST BELOW!

S7GMA Releases Motivational Single ‘NOW’

By: Nadia Sobehart

Hip-hop artist S7GMA drops latest single, “Now,” a motivational anthem to remind us all to hold on—no matter what comes our way. S7GMA infuses his unique style into the conscious single to introduce listeners to the S7GMA sound.

S7GMA—pronounced “Sigma”—is the solo act of an artist with years of prior experience in a group setting. The musician chose S7GMA as his moniker as a teenager because of its many underlying meanings. “Sigma is the 18th letter in the Greek alphabet. When you turn 18, you’re free—it’s all up to you. 7 is also an important number in numerology. 7 is perfection,” explains S7GMA.

Originally from North Philly, S7GMA relocated to Texas in junior high school. “My uncle put me on old music,” shares the artist. “In junior high in Texas, I was allowed to express myself more. I started listening to different types of music.” At that time, his friends began making parody songs (in the era of Weird Al and fellow creators). “Then, my best friend (xiqt) dropped a real song and sent me the link. I was impressed in my head like, how did he do it? I thought you needed a million dollars in studio equipment to do so.” After acquiring the software to get started (and a $100 microphone, courtesy of his mother), S7GMA was set.

S7GMA is a self-produced artist. Over the years, his sound has taken shape from experience and the influence of artists including Logic and Kid Cudi. “My musical sound is in phases,” shares the musician. “It’s based on my mood. I have fun, commercial pop-y songs. Songs talking my talk. A love song coming out. But at the moment, I’m trying to stick with the S7GMA sound. My motivation is dark in a morbid-type way. My music is for people who have to learn the hard way.”

“Now” is about “welcoming listeners to your new forever.” The single is a positivity anthem, filled with affirmation. S7GMA hopes to remind listeners that pain does end and to hold on through the hardest of times.

To create the single, S7GMA began with a beat that took time to build. “I had a beat that I started with a melody last year. At the beginning of this year, I was having thoughts about it. So, for the first three months, I locked myself in a room and opened the beat. I produced all the music from scratch. Piano, synth pads, strings, then drums. From there, I got to writing everything I was feeling in that moment. I was in the mindset of, ‘it’s been 11 years, so go ahead and stop wasting time. Time doesn’t wait for anyone. Get it now.’”

With his quest for sigma perfection, S7GMA learned to engineer his vocals to work perfectly with his unique sound. Over the past four years, he’s been mastering music production, first on FL Studio. “I was tired of buying beats on YouTube and searching for “this artist-type” beats. I’d like one of every 100 beats. I don’t rap about the same things others do. I got tired of looking for them. So, I got FL Studio and bought equipment, then watched YouTube videos to mimic what they do until I had the muscle memory down. It’s paying off 1000%.”

While he’s not creating new music, S7GMA is showcasing his talent to live audiences. In mid-July, he has a live show in Austin, Texas, and another lined up in Houston toward the end of the month. He also plans to drop his EP, Mind Of Me, this fall. Alongside “Now,” S7GMA has another single, “Sorry,” available on all streaming platforms, as well as a video for the single on YouTube.

POP / R&B RECORDING ARTIST 'NIKENA' STOP IN AND TALKS ABOUT HER NEW SINGLE "HOLD ME" PLUS MUCH MORE!

Nikena showcases her Jamaican flair through a dancehall-infused party track called "Hold Me."

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST BELOW!

By Bobby Martin

Nikena, a pop and R&B artist, has infused her Jamaican heritage and passion for singing into a vibrant track titled "Hold Me," accompanied by a lively music video depicting a thrilling night at the club.

“I wanted to create a song about two people who makes eye contact at the club and then end up dancing together before the end of the night” Nikena said.

Making a music video is another way for her to explore her creativity further, especially in contributing to the vision for the music video.

“I enjoy seeing my vision come to life,” she said.

Creating “Hold Me” was a process that started with an entirely different beat altogether than what was on the finished copy.

“Usually, my songs begin with a certain direction, but as I delve more into the creative process, they take on new melodies and sounds, sometimes moving from my initial vision. I never truly know where they’ll end up and I enjoy that mystery.”

With “Hold Me,” Nikena is most proud of her ability to step out of her comfort zone.

“I let the song unfold naturally. I allowed myself to have fun and release my expectations, even though I’m often very critical of my work. I’m constantly challenging myself.”

Nikena’s musical story starts in her native country of Jamaica at the age of 11. One day she was sitting in her classroom and the newspaper was delivered, and in one section there was a photograph of Aaliyah with some of her song lyrics.

“I thought she was so beautiful,” Nikena said. “This was my first time being exposed to an R&B singer and music. I thought, one day I want to have a song and do something like her.”

Soon after, she moved to Brooklyn where her love for music continued to blossom. She participated in talent shows and singing in choirs as she grew up. For fun, she would just go to the library on the weekends and print out lyrics to music from artists like Brandy, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera to practice.

Nikena became a nurse after college, but her desire to make music was unwavering. At this point she was writing and singing constantly, and this when inspiration hit.

“One day, I wrote a song outside a laundromat,” she explained. “It was a hot summer day and having just ended a relationship, I wanted to escape the sadness I felt at the time. I began to think of what I could do to get out of the mindset I was in. I decided to write a song, not about how I was feeling in the moment, but the complete opposite. So I started to imagine a romantic escape with a future partner by waterfalls in Jamaica. A melody came to mind and that’s how ‘Water’ the first song I ever released came to be.”

Shortly after “Water” was written, she had a realization that music was a direction that she needed to take. She had an epiphany that was reinforced during an encounter with a woman she was introducing herself to at work. The woman complimented Nikena on her great speaking voice and asked if she was a singer. Nikena mentioned her song “Water,” and the woman encouraged her to go and record it.

This was 2019 and Nikena has been in the studio ever since. Nikena loves the process and everything involved, from recording to doing open mics and shows.

Since she started she has recorded eight songs and released six, but she has plenty more to go.

Nikena is inspired by life experiences and says she 'loves everything about love.' She enjoys writing about love and even heartbreak. Whenever she faces a situation, she turns it into a song.

She is also influenced by her Jamaican culture, infusing Caribbean rhythm into her sounds. Nikena added that the music video also displayed her culture through the dancing and attire.

“I try to incorporate my culture into my work, even in the smallest ways,” she said.

Nikena mentioned that her goal is for people around the world to hear her music.  "I want people to enjoy my music as much as I do and for them to join me on my journey.”

Be sure to check out “Hold Me” and the music of Nikena, available on all platforms.

Astro Black Artist's KingJuIc3 and AcWolf stopped by and talked about their Hip Hop track "What You Came For" and MORE!

KingJu1c3 & AcWolf open summer with a hip-hop vacation track, “What You Came For”

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST BELOW!

By Kurt Beyers

With summer season coming on, the hip-hop/R&B duo KingJu1c3 and AcWolf have crafted a chill, laid-back hip-hop track called “What You Came For” to get people up for the season’s fun.

KingJu1c3 says the idea behind it is “like a trip to Vegas.”

AcWolf takes a more metaphysical view. The song, he says, “dives into a state of heightened self-awareness.”

So "What You Came For" is already available, released on June 13th.

“Say you go to Vegas for a weekend to have fun, or go on a bender,” said KingJu1c3, “and then you go home and what happened in Vegas stayed in Vegas. That’s what the song is about.”

“The protagonist observes the inauthenticity of social interactions, their mind a kaleidoscope of thoughts as they navigate these superficial exchanges,” said AcWolf.

Sometimes I fly like just want to vibe out

Let go

Wave

Grab another cup pour me something cuz I’m fly

I been sitting wit my day ones

Its how we ride by

The melodies are soft and dreamy, the beat quiet but insistent, driving the lyrics along.

“When you’re there, it’s crazy,” said KingJu1c3. “But when you come back home, it’s like, ‘All right. We’re cool. Back to business.’”

“Despite the facade,” said AcWolf, “a sense of knowing cuts through, unveiling the hidden motives of those around them. The song then takes a turn towards euphoria as the protagonist finds their crew, reveling in the authenticity and shared excitement of being ‘all up’ together.”

I know I know

Said I'm lit tho

I know I know

I said we Up!

KingJu1c3 and AcWolf, long-time friends, also released “Massi” last year.

KingJu1c3, a combat veteran of the U.S. armed forces, has been singing, writing and making music since age 14 or 15. In high school, he says, music was something “on the side.”

After high school, he joined the military, came back, earned a master’s degree and then, just about the time he was starting to take music seriously, the pandemic happened. His music career, like so much else around the world, was interrupted.

“Basically, I took a break, and now I’m starting back up and getting back into music,” he said.

Now 35, Ju1c3 said, “If I were to condense it to how long I’ve been doing music nonstop, I would say about five years.”

He is from Bellflower, California, one of the suburbs of Los Angeles. In his bio, he says that his music explores “the paradoxes and complexities of the human experience,” and he puts into his rhymes “the pain and struggles of war, navigating life after service, and the resilience of the human spirit.”

AcWolf is from Inglewood, a few miles west and closer to the coast. He says he infuses his music with spirituality, “challenging listeners to rise to higher vibrations.” His life has been marked by the challenges of adversity and gang life, bringing him to a determination “to lead and guide others toward a knowledge of God” and help them in their search for inspiration and growth.

“The wave of life is our own creation, a ride shaped by our choices,” he said. “Embrace it all, the crests and the crashes, for it’s how we carve our own journey. “

Ju1c3’s underground hip-hop is based in what he calls the “raw emotion of ’90s R&B and the gritty beats of early 2000s hip hop.” His music invites listeners to “step into the shadows and face the darkness and the light.”

His earlier work was more focused on the R&B spectrum of his vocal work — singing instead of rapping. He is turning now more toward hip-hop.

Ideally, he said, he and AcWolf want to perform more and get a record deal and professional management. “What You Came For” is the introduction.

“We think it can be one of those summer jams that can be one of the two or three songs that are always playing on the radio, that people are like, ‘You can’t get enough of it,’ which is why it ends on a cliffhanger that makes you want to play it again.”

SINGER/SONGWRITER "HAR'MONIQUE" TALKS ABOUT HER NEW SINGLE "ONE IN A MILLION"

Har’Monique debuts with “One In a Million” — sultry, classic R&B dipped in hip-hop

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST BELOW!

By Kurt Beyers

With a power voice that goes as deep and hot as magma, or high, hard and cold as nails, delivered smooth, soft and dreamy or with a hacksaw edge, Har’Monique is launching her career with “One In a Million.”

The song drops July 12, the video a couple weeks after that.

Except for the overt but not explicit sexuality, the melody and vocals are classic R&B, set over a bell-like hip-hop beat.

“I’m not really an R&B artist, so, I feel like whenever I do dabble in R&B sounds, it has to have some sort of hip-hop flair to it,” she said.

When she first heard the music that became this song, what immediately popped into her mind was the Aaliyah song by the same name.

“When I heard the sounds, I definitely heard Aaliyah’s ‘One In a Million.’ Her song had a lot of depth to it, soulful but real deep in her voice, and I thought, ‘That’s so cool! I love it!’ So, when I heard these sounds, I was like, ‘Oh, my God! That can have the same kind of undertone and depth to it.’ I wanted to take the title and make it my own.”

The sound, she said, was sexy, and she knew right off that she had to write something sexy to the music.

Cuz what I want want want want

Is what you want want want

Tonight

That’s why I’m saying

Make me your one in a million

That process is in the nature of her creativity.

“I don’t ever go in with a subject matter in mind. The song is always what the beat and the sound tell me it needs to be, and it basically writes itself.”

The real joy of music, for her, is in the creation. Despite a voice that could have been designed specifically for R&B, and with the control that lets her use it however she wants, which, after this song, will be mainly pop, she says, “If I wasn’t writing my own music, I wouldn’t be singing.”

This, and her fierce desire to be independent, tell the story of why six albums worth of her songs are “in the vault under my bed.”

She is working on the seventh now. It will drop sometime early next year with 23 tracks. She wrote “One In a Million” in 2017 for the fourth album. It will be the third song she has released, the first this year. The other two were in 2021.

Her story goes like this:

She had a boyfriend in college who was going to school for audio engineering. Har’Monique has always sung, always had a voice for singing, and had been singing since she was a child, but “My goal in life was never to be a singer. I wanted to be a writer and write novels.”

One day the ex said to her, “You can lay down some vocals.” This was when she was 21 or so, a little more than a decade ago.

“So, I told him that I wasn’t getting into anybody’s studio to do cover songs. If I had to sing songs, I was going to have to write my own. And that’s when I fell in love with writing music.”

Har’Monique, whose day job is flight attendant, has found the engineer she wants, and another whose work she likes to master her songs, and she is just beginning to put out some of the music she has written.

It was the 21st song she selected from her vault for her album No. 7, Monique by Har’Monique.

She said “One In a Million,” the R&B number, doesn’t belong on this album, which is pop mixed with whatever her creativity tells her to mix in.

She plans to release singles, the next one around Labor Day, until she gets the album finished early next year.

“There’s always going to be a switch-up for my music. I gotta keep people on their toes. Like I said, the most fun is just creating.”

Despite the R&B vocals and melody, she said she had to put out this song.

“I just love this song, so I gotta put it out.”

July 12. It’s worth marking on the calendar: “One In a Million,” Har’Monique. Connect with her on all platforms for new music, videos, and social posts.

PRODUCER AND SONGWRITER "THE MELLOW MAC" TALKS ABOUT HIS NEW SINGLE 'ONE WAY TICKET' AND MUCH MORE!

The Mellow Mac’s “One Way Ticket” takes you to a fun, high-grade, classic R&B song

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST BELOW!

By Kurt Beyers

For over two decades, The Mellow Mac has written and produced a large body of work, from R&B rap—hip-hop, pop, reggaeton, EDM, neo soul, country and more—for various artists and labels.

“One Way Ticket,” single released July 2024, features The Mellow Mac on an R&B love song, with harmonic vocals telling his love interest he’s ready to go to the next level if she is.

“Yeah, yeah. I wanted that sensual kind of feel, where I only use a kick drum, snare & hat.  I played all the instruments like butter, with a tempo at 70 bpm”.

I need to know if you’re ready?

Should I get a one-way ticket now?

A round trip if you’re not down

“Grown folks' music,” he said. “That’s really what it is—classic R&B with a little taste of a “Silk Sonic” kind of vibe, with a the fast, syncopated vocal cadence and saucy harmonies.”

I need to know if your cup runs over

will you want it again?

want it again, want it again now

He is a co-founder and producer for the band L.A. CounyLine, which has released a few singles, EPs and albums and performs in the Los Angeles region. They co-wrote songs for GaimChng3R Entertainment and partners Bungalo/Universal Music.  Mellow Mac produced, engineered and played multiple instruments on several songs for this group

He has worked for many years in artist development, polishing various artist’s skills. His work ethic keeps him working constantly at several recording studios including his studio in La Habra, CA. Kram Pro Studios, established in 2003. As an engineer, musician, producer and many more hats are worn by The Mellow Mac.

“I don’t want to sit on some of these songs anymore. I constantly write and collaborate, adding to my catalog songs. I thought ‘Okay, I just want to do something for myself, for me,’ and that’s why I decided to release my own album.”

The songs are his babies, after all, and he wants to send them out into the world and see them make good. “One Way Ticket” will also be the title of the album in 2025.

“The album has a lot of different flavors,” he said. “I have some rap/hip/hop a mixture, but it’s mostly R&B.”

“One Way Ticket” is the second of his babies that he has released this year. The first, “Me and My Boo,” is a fast, fun, Pop/R&B number that features Jacob G. on lead vocals, who is the other co-founder of the band L.A. CounyLine, which they formed in 2018.

“Making music is not work to me, it’s therapy. I play and record music to relax my hyper mental energy and music comes easy to me. I’m all over the place musically speaking, which can be difficult to market. Growing up listening to different music genres made me kind of like a music gypsy and definitely a free spirit when it comes to music. I have an appreciation for all forms of good music”

MUSICIAN / PRODUCER NATE YOUNG AKA "SE7ENDIGITS" TALKS ABOUT HIS NEW SINGLE "CHANGE YOUR MIND" AND MUCH MORE!

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST BELOW!

Musician and producer Nate Young—otherwise known as Se7enDigits is set to release his latest single, “Change Your Mind” on June 3 through his label, AWGIU Entertainment. The single invites listeners to reflect on the failed communication that often occurs in relationships.

Born in South Korea, Se7enDigits was adopted at age one and raised in Pennsylvania with his sister. His passion for music began developing early on, inspired by his sister’s participation in band. By age six, Se7enDigits began to learn the piano and, later on, orchestral music.

For Se7enDigits, music is a means of connection and healing. He brings personal experiences of pain and struggle into his compositions, which are based in the style of hip hop and R&B. Se7enDigits cites musical influences including Tory Lanez, J. Cole, and PNB Rock.

Now, Se7enDigits is a multitalented musician and producer with a bachelor’s degree in Recording Arts and a focus in mixing engineering. The name “Se7enDigits” is both a play on the digits in a telephone number and a personal experience. When Se7enDigits was younger, he was teased at school for having seven fingers instead of ten; now, he takes any misinformed negativity in stride, teasing back with his moniker.

His single, “Change Your Mind,” is a song about looking for different ways to reach out to a person when communication is failing. “It’s about failed attempts at getting attention,” adds Se7enDigits. “It’s a reflection song.”

When creating “Change Your Mind,” Se7enDigits approached the writing process with his tried-and-true method. “First, I go into the booth and scat to find the melody and flow. I don’t worry about the lyrics. And before that, I’ll make a beat and listen to get the feel of the song. Then I’ll record over it to get the melodies.”

“Change Your Mind” began as a freestyled hook and, soon after, took on life with the addition of verses. As any artistic endeavor, state of mind comes into play when creating. “My songwriting depends on my mood,” he adds.

It’s been a while since Se7enDigits released a single, which means he’s looking forward to sharing new music with listeners old and new. “I’ve been stockpiling music,” he adds. “I’ve been working on getting better. I just hope people can relate to the words in my song and think it’s catchy.”

SOUL SINGER 'ALYSSA ROSE HUNT' STOPS BY AND TALKS ABOUT HER NEW SINGLE "VIBE WITH YOU" AND MUCH MORE!

Alyssa Rose Hunt Uplifts Listeners with New Single, ‘Vibe with You’

By: Nadia Sobehart

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST BELOW!

Soulful singer Alyssa Rose Hunt invites you to groove to her latest single, “Vibe with You.” The energetic track off her recent album is accompanied by an upbeat music video and energy that welcomes all to the party.

Telling stories is more than entertainment for Alyssa Rose—it’s a way of life. “I started writing when I was struggling with my mental health, around 2017 to 2019. In 2020, I started writing music as a way to express my thoughts on paper—get it all out.”

During this challenging period in Hunt’s life, she sought guidance from the universe, leading her on her current journey in music. “It was a spiritual awakening,” shares Alyssa Rose. “Magnetic Muse is the twin flame journey I’m on, based on the Chinese philosophic theory of yin and yang, masculine and feminine energy.”

Beyond the music, Alyssa Rose Hunt is an actress, dancer, choreographer, director, writer, painter, model, and photographer from Onatrio, Canada. Since 2019, the artist has released four albums, seven singles, and eight independently produced music videos. A few months ago, in March 2024, Hunt released her fourth album, the two-part EP dubbed “Magnetic Muse.”

“Vibe with You” is a featured single off Magnetic Muse Chapter 2. “It’s a very upbeat, catchy song. My mom said to me, ‘You gotta write pop, and I want to dance to it.’ I’m usually more soulful, but I said, ‘Ok, let’s write something upbeat so my mom can enjoy it,’” explains the singer. The core of the song is about having a positive, fun experience. “It’s about being with the person that rests your mind and you feel at peace with,” she elaborates.

Alyssa Rose highlights the major role of the drums in her single. “I really wanted to emphasize the drum solo because you don’t usually hear a drum solo—it’s usually saxophone and guitar that get solos—but the drums are the underdog yet they’re the main structure of the song.” The single’s drummer, Sam Ruttan, is a talented musician with a background in jazz, which he brings to the table. “‘Vibe with you’ is pop, but he adds a jazz feel.”

The music video accompanying the single was inspired by a sweater her mother used to wear often when she was a kid. Based on her sweater, Alyssa Rose created the set and story for the music video.

This album is about self-discovery for Alyssa Rose, as well as her twin flame journey. According to the artist, “I want to go within and figure out who I am as an individual—the yin and yang and finding that balance within myself. It’s important for everyone to find out who they are and their morals in life. Especially when it comes to love—you need to love yourself before you love anyone else. Discovering who you are and what you believe in is the first step.”

Creating music is a collaborative effort for Alyssa Rose. “Usually, I tend to feel a certain energy when it comes to the music itself. I’ll come up with the melody and lyrics for the energy I want to portray. Once I have the lyrics, I’ll ask my producer (Fresco Rhodes) and band (Sam Ruttan, Dan Espina) to create the energy I’m trying to go for. They bring their own vision to the table. Then we work together to collaborate in a way that flows really nice once mixed.”

Feedback for the single has been largely uplifting. “People say ‘Vibe with You’ is a classic. Out of the album, it’s a fun, radio-friendly song that makes them feel good. I like that kind of feedback—that it makes you feel good and you resonate with it,” shares Alyssa Rose.

Make sure to stay connected to Alyssa Rose Hunt on all platforms for new music, videos, and social posts.

GABLE BURNETT DROPS BY AND TALKS ABOUT HER NEW SONG "TROUBLE" PLUS MORE!

Gable Burnett and her kickoff song “Trouble” are Americana country rocking out into fun

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST BELOW!

By Kurt Beyers

Gable Burnett’s new song “Trouble” starts off with a bang and takes off from there in a flat dead rocking country run.

Her career as a recording artist, beginning with “Trouble,” should follow the same trajectory. “Should” not only because she writes some great music and “should” because she has the talent and the power voice, but “should” because she is working it.

The song, dropping May 31, is based on a family joke.

“When I was a little girl, I was very high energy and very curious. I got into all sorts of trouble. I’d take things apart and see if I could put them back together. I’d run off in public, not to be intentionally bad, but over the years it developed into this outlandish kind of reputation thing for the small town that I grew up in. ‘Oh, Gable’s trouble. She’s a little wild.’”

Take that concept, put it in an adult context, get Gable to play with it in her brand of country — “falling,” she says, “under the subgenres of Americana, red dirt, classic country, folk and blue grass” — and you’ve got what could be/should be a legitimate hit.

I don’t go out looking for trouble ’Cos trouble’s looking for me Waiting there right around the corner When I’m just walking down the streetWhere you find one you’ll find the other Don’t believe me ask my mother

The song is clearly country, but rock is also in the mix, in generous measure. She agrees with that opinion to an extent.

“I think it’s all subjective at the end of the day. With the rock style instruments we put in there, we have a kind of rockabilly, old school sound, but people who are hardcore into rock and the sub genres of rock might not consider it rock.”

However it might be considered, the music is fun and danceable and the lyrics are fun and listener singable. You will be singing it out loud before you know you’re doing it.

“Trouble,” which she co-wrote with Andi Renfree, who wrote “The Buffalo Grass” for Chris LeDoux, is the first song in this new phase of her career. She has been performing for years, and for the last couple has been putting out music on the streaming platforms, but with new manager Lisa Kyser of Ten East Ten West, she now has direction.

Gable has pulled her previous catalogue and it will be re-released in the distribution plan for her music.

Before 2018, she was in opera as part of a studio in Richardson, Texas, and did opera kinds of things, like singing in seven different languages and performing in the Carnegie Hall honors series, where she won some scholarship money.

She participated in National Association of Teachers of Singing competitions “and all this kind of high classical stuff.”

“But I really didn’t start trying to figure out what I wanted to do and performing more of what I wanted to do until 2018, when I moved to Nashville. Even though I had that classical background and education, I knew I didn’t want to be a teacher and I knew I didn’t want to sing opera over in Europe, and those are pretty much the only two options you have in that classical path.”

Country at first wasn’t in the running for what she wanted to do. She was “messing around with pop and different stuff,” but her family didn’t want her to go to Los Angeles or New York. Family friends connected to the Gatlin Brothers suggested country.

“At the time, the main thing was the Florida-Georgia line and a lot of bro country, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but it just wasn’t my style. I was like, ‘Oh, I don’t want that. I don’t want to sing about boots and trucks and blah blah blah.’ And they said, ‘No no no! You’re good. Listen to some Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton. Here’s some artists and some songs. Go listen to that and come back.’”

She took the advice.

“They were right,” she said. “I love the storytelling aspect. I love the history behind it. I love the culture behind it. I love everything about country music. It ties into so much of my life, where I grew up and everything, that I was taken aback that I hadn’t discovered how wonderful it was sooner.”

She paused for a second, thinking about that, then said, “Well, I grew up in a household where I was only allowed to listen to Christian music for years.”

She says now her two main inspirations are Dolly and David Alan Coe. She also references The Judds, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette — “all the women who’ve been really big in country music, who’ve come before me and definitely paved the way for me to be able to do what I’m trying my best to do.”

When she says “trying,” she means putting in some hard work.

“This is basically the start of everything for me,” she said. “I’ve got four jobs, and both my parents helped me, too. I got all these different side hustles just trying to make the dream come true.”

She has shows booked in August, more songs ready to put out, “other things in the pipeline that we’re getting pre-recorded to put out after that.”

The next single, “Cicada Summer,” will be out soon after “Trouble.”

“We’ve got quite a few songs ready and more music to put out, more singles. We’ve got a whole strategy for release. We’re gonna have plenty of stuff to share with everybody, and I’m so excited for it.”
